Important

I put Jason's old one through the floor on the silver jeep.

No idea where yours went. Probably in the front of that one

Is that were your's went???

Yep. traded it in for the flex at the ford dealer out there, the oil looked like chocolate milk. im sure the dealer just cleaned it and put it on the lot.

It was beat pretty good, they lifted the front by cutting the tower and welding in a pice of pipe, rear was a 3" block.

Stuff I can fix but he wouldn't take 800 (he was asking 1200) so I walked. Before I left I told him I hope he doesn't get sued when the front spring tower colapses and kills someone.
sounds like a hackjob, I would run the hell away anyways.

WJ's are cool. I want to find one with a blown 4.0 and swap the wifes xj motor into it.

it doesn't work that way unfortunately, WJ/late TJ (possibly others as well) 4.0 blocks have different mounting bosses on them. XJ/MJ/ZJ ones won't fit and if you make them, you can't mount the ac compressor among other things.

REALLY?!! never knew that, good thing I didn't run out and do it. Thanks Ken.

I like a little jeep. Proved itself with the big dawgs in Moab! 33s are fun and a care for body damage changes how you wheel...to a degree.

Oh, spent today getting paid to shoot my shotgun.

Prolly shot 150 rounds through it.

Was fun even in the rain.

Yes this was a big deal in why we got out of ours. people want a lot of scratch for the WJ 4.0.

My moms friends son has an WJ that the motor went. He went out and bought a XJ 4.0 motor and got stuck with it since it didn't fit.

My dad bought his 04 wj 4.0 FREEEEEEEDOM edition with 50k this year for $7200.

yep... H8PVMT on here managed to remachine a WJ block to put into his old XJ with Art Triggs' help but I don't think you can go the other way.

I know the engine mount bosses, AC compressor bosses, and possibly alt/ps mounting bosses as well are different. The AC compressor goes under the intake/exhaust on a WJ and I forget where the other two go, but it isn't the normal setup.

Brown Dog sells a motor mount kit to put a WJ block into an XJ/MJ but you still have to solve the accessory mounting issues. I don't think anyone sells anything to put an XJ/MJ/ZJ/YJ block into a WJ.

I've heard a lot of people say 35s are the hot ticket, great compromise between wheeling more challenging obstacles and keeping your drivetrain alive (unless you're Jason). I would not mind getting my hands on a set of 35" Goodyears since I follow the crowd and everyone says BFGs suck now :D

I know of a nice set of MTR Kevlars in the 35" size that are going to be for sale....

If you go to Moab I'm expecting a phone call.

You will probably be ready to sell before I am ready to buy, but let me know. I should probably get 2 wheeling trips in with the new rig before I start changing stuff :)

The red XJ looks awesome Dan, it's love/hate for a lot of people but I'm a big fan of that color!
