Got the paperwork back for the m416! Now to figure out what I did to make the left turn signal on the trailer not work....I bet I drilled through a wire! :doh:

Edit: everything checks out on the Jeep end. Thinking I either have a bad ground or the light itself is bad.

I have also had a master fail both ways.

Dan, please note that it is almost impossible to bleed a master IN the vehicle.

I don't think it's air in the system... we bled it three times and the pedal felt good (with the jeep off)
I'm thinking master. When mine died I started slowly losing pedal at stop lights, then it finally quit for good. (Little/no pedal)
Air in the system would also give constant symptoms, he says this is "sometimes".

I've always bench bled mc's before install. Agree its the only way to do it.

I just ran the little lines that came with it back into the reservoir and pumped the pedal until all the air was gone. What's different about that versus doing it on the bench?

Nothing. Other than its easier.

I'm guessing he is referring to bleeding it w the lines hooked up

The angle it's mounted at. I thought like you just did until I tried that once, and it didn't work worth a damn because the air pockets end up above where the ports enter the cylinder when the thing is mounted in the jeep. So now I typically run the goofy lines back into the reservoir, then fill it with fluid and pump it with both thumbs while holding the cylinder at an angle that puts the ports exactly at the top of the cylinder.
