Important

Re: Re: Important

There's a lot of information in that statement

Service call at a dentists office, was there for 1.5hr..

I think I was clenched so tight I took some of his leather chair with me...

Still working at the Subaru dealer Phil? You guys should be busy with all the #4 ringland failures on STI's! :roflmao: Subaru is a real dick about that too. I know a guy WHo had not touched his engine and they said he overrevved the engine causing the failure.....um, isn't the computer supposed to prevent that?

Not much the ecu can do when you drop it into first at 100...

Yeah, pretty sure he didn't do that! It had suspension mods only. ECU was untouched.

I bet it cured your cough though.

So I need new shocks for the front of Shamu. I talked Poly Performance into selling me 11" Fox 2.0's with the 5/8 shaft for $138 a piece.

Should I buy these? Or should I just buy some Bil's for the front? Perhaps those ones for sale in the classifieds

Yeah, I've heard about Subaru's warranty department.

A buddy of mine had 2 STi's and the first had an axle seal give out in the first month that was caused by a worn 5th gear syncro (according to them). Subaru told him it was from shifting at high RPMs (or some similar bs) and wouldn't cover it. He threatened to leave the car at the shop and never come back. They fixed it.

For the life of me, I don't know how one could wear out a 5th gear syncro in a month. Especially in northern Indiana where twisty roads and traffic make it impossible to be jamming 5th at high speeds on the regular.

The fox 2.0 5/8 is a sweet shock!

I'm happy with my 12' Bil's. But those are sweet too.

You guys that run fancy shocks (5100s, Foxes, etc.), how much do you try to match them to the springs you run (as far as spring rate)? I would like to get a decent set of shocks but I'm concerned my springs might be too soft.

That's a long conversation that should be had somewhere back channel lol.

I was talking to one of our drivers this morning, and he told me that he went to get in his truck last night and he found a condom wrapper and cigarette ashes all over inside the truck and he claimed it smelled like alcohol. The driver that had the truck before him is a newer guy and he happen to stop at one of the rest areas known for lot lizards for a half an hour on his way back the other night. I hate slip seating.

weird...we bought our subaru used and out of warranty. when the turbo blew the first time 4k after the warranty expired they paid for over 1/3 of the repairs (it was an expensive bill) with no questions asked. i thought that was pretty nice since the dealer we bought it from a month previous didn't offer us any help. i understand it was a chevy dealer and we bought it "as is" but still, it seems to me that its not in your best interest to turn your back on a first time customer. a few weeks ago that dealership called me and asked if we still had the subaru because they would LOVE to have it as a trade in (there is now a predicted "shortage" of good used subarus so they are a good car to have on a lot...and they wanted to try to sell us a new car) when she asked me if i still had it i said "Nope" and promptly hung up...

I was getting those calls for a while from the honda place i bought the jeep from. the last one wasn't even the salesmen i dealt with(previously always was) so i told her i had was never gonna trade it in, and not in the market for a new Honda. they send me a "happy birthday" message every year still.
