Important

Went to menards, spent money.now I have work to do around the house. :(

That could have been a whole lot worse. Be glad you found it before you had to drive through New Mexico again.

It had to have happened with a mile or two of my buddies house...it was a hose that runs from the coolant reservoir to the water pump...these trucks have a cooling system with a degas bottle in them like renix xjs. We only had to add about a gallon of fluid (think the system holds maybe 4 gallons) and the truck had not gotten hot at all. I guess there's something to be said for driving the truck every once in a while...and not just towing the trailer...well I was towing a trailer...

one of my favorite things to do is find the most cheesiest, low production, crap zombie/monster movies i can on netflix. dont know why, i just love really really bad movies.

Zombie Strippers FTW!!!

That or any Stone Cold Steve Austin movie on Net Flix... They used to have a bunch of them.

The girls and i just got back from a tae kwon do tournament.

The Ole' Lady got 1st place in forms , I got 1st in board breaking and 2nd in sparring.

Our little girl got 1st place in sparring.

Im feeling old and battered , i took a clean kick right across my jaw .
Was fun though

be careful what you put on the internet Kman...

Do they have a warning system or a shutdown if they get too low on coolant like the big trucks do ?

I don't know. Never saw anything. The motor didn't even get hot.

Never could figure out why small diesels don't. My semi will automatically shut down if it gets low on water or oil. It doesn't have to get hot. Just low. Seems like such a simple feature to add and with a new motor being close to $20k to replace it makes sense.

1.9L and 2.5L Diesels here.

Mainly a safety issue, if you shutdown when the person is using it in a dangerous situation then it could be bad. My engines are set-up to only derate power, amber check engine, red stop light and alarm.

for some customers we are re-working the software so they will shutdown for low oil pressure, low coolant, hot coolant.

My tuner will detune the truck back to factory when the parameters are reached that are set for it make is pissed off. It will beep and tell me. For instance, cooling, is set at 220. For reference the factory fan doesn't come on until 230. So it kind of over protects things. At least for temps. I've only seen the coolant get that hot pulling the hill out of Harlan in 100 degree heat and pulling the hill out of Albuquerque, NM from almost a dead stop. Both with the 48 foot latched on and loaded down.

The pyro is set at 1450 and will detune. I've seen that a few times.

You...have a problem.

Duramax to suburban?
Holy downgrade, batman!

Now there's the reaction I expected :) Sure it is, but downgrading from a $19,000 vehicle to a $4,000 one will allow me to downgrade from $400/mo to $0/mo.

The Duramax is a powerhouse and a blast to drive, but... I need to pull 6000 pounds of trailer around and I need a place to sleep. There's no way I can justify the cost of the Duramax for what I'm using it for.

Good lookin', Brad!

Feeling good, Josh!

Yea I know... I need help! I know you tried a lot of different combinations trying to find what worked best for you, and you have an awesome setup now that you're happy with. Here lately my big push is cutting expenses and saving money, which meant the payment needed to go.

Well.... as much as it might appear to be a downgrade, maybe it's not. If the Suburban will move the load *AND* he needs the bigger enclosed compartment, it's more of an upgrade.

Now, a Suburban with a DirtyMax........
