I was contemplating this, I will probably use the ramps just to keep from cutting the treads in my tires.....
 
Trailer wheels have some play in them, not a lot, but some... Like when you first find a bad tie-rod... You feel the tire move, and if you look really close, you can see the wheel move...

What do you think? They all had grease zerks, used about 1/2 tube of hi-temp wheel bearing grease in em...

Scratch that, figured it out, hubs are 'snug' now...
 
Stop every 50 miles, no more than 100 miles and check the hubs on your trip to make sure they're not getting warm.

I also hope that you didn't overgrease them.
 
1 hub had a bearing buddy, the 3 older one have zerks on the center of the spindle. I can only get at the drivers side where its parked right now, I took the caps off, bent the prong up, tightened the nut until I started feeling drag, stopped, then moved it backwards to the nearest opening in the castle nut. Then I greased them (using the center zerks) untill the bad/old grease came out, wiped it off with a rag, re-assembled... Tires spin 1-2 full rotations before they stop (light brake drag)... Figured this was good?
 
I do a safety check of all tires on my truck (kick them), and feel all the tires and wheel bearings on the trailer to make sure they are pretty close in heat every time I stop for fuel (250 to 300 miles).

I repack wheel bearings all my trailers that haul cars once a year and hit them with a couple squirts of grease a couple times a year.

In 15 years of towing stuff I've only lost a wheel bearing once because the cap came off and rain got into the hub. Thankfully, it was caught early and I had old bearings in the trailer and repacked them right along side the highway.

So I was going to drive the jeep to work this morning to get the trans warm and check the fluid. I went out started it and let it run for about 10 minutes. When I went to leave the thing wouldn't go into gear!! I had a normal brake pedal but the light wouldn't come on. Any ideas?

Sideshow on stilts last year was possibly the best thing I have ever witnessed. I am truly sorry I will not be there this time to see it again :(

You put grease in em... that is better than 90% of trailer owners do, it should be fine.
 
Got the trailer moved last night (boy, that was fun) I will do the passenger side bearings today. I did notive the rubber cap on one of the older ones has a big crack in it. Funny thing is I think one of the rubber floor plugs from the xj is about the same style/size so I might try and get that to work, or go to northern tool after school and see what they have...

Phil has a Spartan Locker for a d30 for sale super cheap... Trying to figure out how I can pick it up...

good morning sam...

chillin...watching a bunch of hd video do its thing. nothing like getting paid $400 to sit and watch videos play for 8 hours. one of the reasons i'm coming back to the city. for my day today in iowa i would have made $160 minus a lunch break :( that and the equipment i have is exactly what i need to do the job, not a jerry rigged pile of junk that just barely works. its tough for me to explain to people why we are moving...i realize its trading one type of aggravation for another, but if you throw 2.5 times more money at me...i'll deal with it.

You don't have to explain to me (or a lot of other people around here, I suspect) about using the right tools for the job.

And right now, I'm trying to stifle the urge to go stomp a mudhole in someone this morning (not here.)
