My refund went up by a factor of 4-5x as a result of owning [half of] a house.
 
Trying to decide on a rear bumper and could use some opinions.

I am deciding between Jcr rear crusader with the Lower quarter armor and the JCR Cut and fold rear.

Was interested in the C-rok one but i feel like since my gate will stick out a bit it sits too close .

Im leaning toward the Cut and fold (not done on my rig yet)

On the other hand it is a DD and I've built it for light-medium trail duty and a clean finished (body matched) look.

Ive seen a few cut and folds around town and think it looks terrible seeing the unibody and exhaust all hanging out . but with the bumpers that wrap around it looks alot better (at least on the internet).

Mudflaps are ugly too and i dont want to end up needing them to be street legal either .

Decisions .. decisions..

Install these, remove all other weights, no more having to worry about knocking them off wheeling.

I'm using plastic air-soft BBs in my tires and its been amazing the difference in ride. HOWEVER it only works up to ~60-65mph... I'm thinking if I had Brian's (I'm assuming they're ceramic?) I bet I could get 70-75mph with no vibes....

I have a similar setup from another company in my tires. 35" KM2's on DIY beadlocks. They get aired down to 8-10 on the trail and ran on the highway at 70 mph. No wheel weights, all beads.

A 10 oz bag is very small, compared to something like the volume of 10 oz of airsoft bb's. I've been running them for about 5 years, on a couple different sets of tires.

Brian has figured out how to get the cost down compared to his competitors, but it's proven technology. Highly recommended.

I let hobag send me some to test in her jeep awhile back....they worked great for us in her 35s. we wheel rocks pretty exclusively so her nokians are chunked pretty bad, weight balancing lasts one trip for us, even if she manages to leave the trail without ripping off the weights :D


....hell one even has a half pound patch in it and it rides smooth
 
I swear every step forward I take on this project is two steps back... Place I'm getting the seats from was supposed to leave them out back for Phil to pick up (usual practice for them). Well of course they didn't so Phil tried going to the owners, and owners son's house to try and get em, of course, no one is home. So now I get to spend 3 hours on Monday driving to and from Eau Claire when I could instead be working on the pile... Debating on leaving them in Eau Claire till the following weekend when I go home to pick up the trailer I'm using and grab them on the way back...
 
hmm...i though all top tranny bolts on xj's were e12...

i just pulled the mj tranny and fought and fought with the e12 and my fat arms since i couldn't see them. finally threw the e14 on...perfect fit. ah well...got some good swearing in.

I have a stock 5.9 ZJ I am thinking about building for some stock class racing. Not sure what series yet. I think I'll track Mac down at WF and trade him beer for advice and pointers.
 
Headed to Byron's in the morning to drop off a diff cover for him and pick up the tires and wheels Jim gave to my buddy and my now spare driveshaft.
