Important

One headlight's shiny, the other not so much.

Correct...too bad there were issues with the passenger headlight install and currently it only has one head light.

Hope you flushed those cooler lines... lot of people forget and feed burnt fluid and fragments of the old trans to the new one.

I did not. The tranny shop says that they did...and they backed it with a 24 month/24k miles warranty.

That's right. Everything I have tested is good, within spec, whatever you want to call it. Jeep isn't throwing any codes. My scan tools do not pick any abnormalities up in the readings (probably because they are not fast enough/make specific) and being my DD I don't have the time to dink around with it, plus it stalled out in the middle of the road on a Sunday afternoon.

What was I supposed to do? Right now getting it fixed is more important than my ego or self esteem, but I kind of have classes to teach, tests to give, homework to correct, doesn't leave much, if any time to dink with it anymore.

I forgot a smilie but I hope you know I was screwing with you. :kissyou:
I had to break down and tow mine years ago to the stealership to have an issue dealt with that I couldn't figure out...was an ignition switch.

I've got a hub with two broken bolts on the drivers side of the ZJ that I still can't get out...I finally gave up last night and started drinking.

I assume youve got D30 unit bearing bolts. If not, I have half a dozen spares.

Oh yeah...thanks for the offer. I've got so many that I walked to a box with bolts and pulled two out without much hassle.

I'll have to dig, but locally where is the best place to get a hub (not internet)...

Usually can't go wrong with timken. I've got a $33 ebay one in route. We'll see what that does.

Mac, I know you're messing with me, all the local guys have been too...

I broke down cause I can't let it sit at school for legal reasons, and it won't fit in the garage at the apartment (only 6ft door.... idiots...) and Max-Bilt is an hour and a half away and I won't pay for that tow bill, so this was the only other choice I had...

It's not the CAT (that I know of) cause I have plenty of flow out the tailpipe and it doesn't glow red, and it was running. Fuel pump is ~1.5-2yrs old, straight from Jeep, so I don't want to think its that, but it may be... I'm thinking ECU cause its a 99 and still has the original in it that's been covered in mud and water XXXX times and last summer I did have a code after Apple valley that was something to the effect of 'No communication with the ECU' but I cleared via battery and it ran fine after that... Maybe its back to bite me in the arse cause I didn't fix it then?

Damn that's a great price...

I need it today tho.

Austin did you check your grounds?

I did, they seem to be clean and intact, I sanded some to make sure...

But I'll take this outta thread now cause I don't want to push any buttons like what happened the other night...

Autozone sells timken and napa gold are nice.

I did not know that autozone sold timken...

I just realized that I've never bought a D30 hub...

I've always had one from another parts rig or sourced directly from dana (don't ask)

Colts coach Chuck Pagano has Leukemia. He is going to miss six weeks at least.

Changed plugs on the xj and checked the dist. Cap and rotor. Didn't get the firing order right the first time and now i think a few spark plug wires messed up. Waiting on my dad to get home so i can take the truck in to get new wires and cap (cheap enough to just go ahead and replace it as i believe the wires have lifetime warrenty).

Also on the old plugs, two were not properly gapped snd the other four were okay.

Was it easier or harder than installing a trailer hitch?

Mac, you can get timkens on rockauto for 75 bucks each, or crummy brands with lifetime warranties at CAP for the same price iirc. I actually saved the box and receipt from that because I was sure it was gonna blow out in a few thousand miles... no groans yet.

I'm gonna just get the cheap one from autozone for now...I know I bad mouthed that earlier....

Just need to get it back on the road. I'm gonna probably redo the front end eventually anyways. Besides the outer shaft holds them together so its not like its going to split apart...
