I don't blame folks for wanting better gas mileage but thinking Jeep and Gas mileage go together is where they go wrong.

if it were up to the consumers Jeep would probably make 2 or 3 very profitable models.

but it's not.
Jeep must meet cafe standards or be penalized. So in order to make up those numbers for the dismal Wrangler they have to produce car based platforms.

They are pushing the brand where they know the buyers are. As crappy as it is for us pureists the truth is we only make up a small fraction of the market...even the wrangler market.

As crappy as it sounds, if they made the wrangler more car like. As in independent suspension and easier to get in and out of yet keep the rugged "look" and also keep the removable top and doors the young women market, which drives a lot of wrangler sales would be lining up around the blocks to buy them.

I hate when I have family or friends on the news for bad reasons. A friend/former co worker's dad stabbed and killed his wife/ friends mom. I know that his mom had cancer, but I have no idea why his dad did this. His uncle was in the news a few years ago also.

I had to pass on the MJ, Mac. To many variables to make the guy sit on it for a while and I'm not completely sure I'm wanting to part out The Gimp. I still drive it to the trail and kinda enjoy that. No truck and trailer right now to be able to justify a trail only rig.
