Yup, Verizon used to care about their customers.....not anymore.

nope...

so as i get deeper into this...now i have an old phone re activated, but i cant send texts or check voicemail. and after chatting with customer service to get a warranty replacement, they no longer have my phone or comprables in stock so they basically told me i'm SOL...what the heck kind of service is that. im extremely pissed right now

buy one on ebay. If you don't need a smartphone you should be able to find a decent phone for fairly cheap on there.

I used to spend 50 bucks on old blackberry 7105t phones when I was on tmobile, I went through about one a year. Those suckers were tough though - I didn't even have a dataplan, I just liked to be able to have a calendar, a full keyboard, etc.

Unlike the automotive industry, who is required to maintain parts availability for a number of years, I don't think that any of the electronics industries are under any such legal mandate.

At this point, fleaBay may be your best bet.

I have never seen king pin front 60 for $150...if that is the case you should be bringing them to winterfest as suggested.

I paid $1200 for a mud truck with no motor to get my front 60 and eaton rear. Both of which had to be completely rebuilt and I had to drive several hours into MI to pick it up.

(that is not my trailer we had to take it off of that trailer and put it on mine)

mac 'and the guy wanted more' gyvr

Craigslist has phones on the regular. Doubtful that they're what you're looking for since you're so rough on them. Just a thought.

I have to say, the motorola c139 and blackberry 7105t were my favorite phones durability wise so far.

c139: dropped multiple times from 8 feet in the air onto cement, sat on it, crawled through tiny passages in cement walls and crawlspaces with it in side pockets, never killed it.
7105t: dropped, dropped and kicked, dropped in muddy junkyards, sat on it in junkyards on 4" rocks, dropped it more, dropped it into a drain pan full of water, mud, diff fluid, brakleen, gasoline, and ATF with it turned on, picked it up, shook it off, and replied to a text before removing battery.

Even with treatment like that they lasted at least a year each. It's a pity blackberries take upwards of 5 minutes to boot.

edit: yeah, that's what I paid for my 87 kingpin 60. I'll definitely have to keep my eye out, if I can collect a couple I'll bring em and sell them for great prices to cover gas.

For real! And you're always working on something when you need to reboot it. Not that someone is gonna get upset that I don't respond in 3 minutes, but it seems like an hour worth of a hassle.

Call them back, talk to someone else.
I had a Droid 2 GIANT POS! It crapped out all of the time. I went through 8 in a year and they kept replacing them under warrantee. I finally told them I want something else, I went to the store and was very persistent. I got a Driod 3.
I went through 3 in 6 months. I now will never buy another Motorola Mobility product. I got an I Phone 4 Thursday and I love it so far. My neighbor works at Motorola and he told me to buy something other than a Motorola phone until Google gets shit straight over there.

I'm happy with my droid 3 but it did get pretty flaky over time. If I hadn't broken the screen (it still worked, which really pissed me off) a few weeks before it finally stopped working completely the replacement would have been free.

I really just want a smartphone with a full keyboard, a hardened steel case, an external antenna, and a battery that'll last a week. I don't care if it weighs a pound and has to be clipped to my belt. Is that so much to ask? I guess it is.

<shrug> Deb's Droid2Global seems to work fine, and it's close to 2 years old now. Shoot, I still am using my A855 Droid that I got just a couple of weeks before the Droid2 was instroduced 2.5 years ago. I can't really justify replacing it, especially when Verizon's much-vaunted "New every 2" is only a $30 credit towards a new phone.

I used to like my blackberry, i don't remember which one it was but it took some abuse!

She's probably a bit nicer to it than I am... and since Sean's an electrician (I think?), I suspect he's probably not very gentle with his either :gee:

ive had g'z one rugged phones for my last 3...my type s was invincible. put it through the ringer and it still worked great...my boulder was okay but i broke 3 of them. my brigade was a huge piece of junk. this is number 4 and it quit on me. the face of it (not the screen, but the "hard" plastic is shattered. has nothing to do with the hardware crapping out though. the phone powers up, then after the verizon screen comes on, it resets. wifes phone did the same thing. at least 10 times a day sending texts it would reset and re start. got all 3 of them for free using my upgrade credit. now they expect me to pay for something that has gotten progressively worse as time has gone on...not gonna happen. ive been searching craigslist, but most of the phones are smart phones (require a data plan) so their out. going to have to do the fleabay thing

Smartphones don't actually require a dataplan, it just won't work if you don't have one. At least on tmobile, that is. I had a smartphone for two or three years without a dataplan.

ok the head light switch really??? why did they design that to be like brain surgery???? im pretty sure my back it broke now. thanks jeep.

anyone ever change it?

SAM'that better be the problem'SET

I guess I have Craig to thank for this...my second BlackBerry 9300 has had the trackpad fritz out. The first one started going jank on me about 3mo in but I didn't replace it right away. This one is the replacement and it's about 3mo old or so. I started my new contract last December. The replacement only has warranty till the date of my original. WTF? I'll give AT&T a call tomorrow and tell them what's up.
