Important

Expensive day...... got $500 worth of TREs coming for the Dodge and an alignment scheduled for Tuesday morning, and $1,300 in new tires on the way as well.

I'm gonna need new tires for my truck before too long...just can't decide which ones I want. We've discussed it before...maybe once this trailer thing is worked out I can finally decide.

I hate buying tires.

When we bought the camper last year I towed it from the RV lot straight to the tire shop. Had the tires ordered and waiting before we signed the camper papers.

Got lucky with the Suburban when I traded wheels; the Dmax wheels had 90% tread Coopers :D

My Dodge had GY Wrangle RT/S tires on it when I bought it, and I actually got rid of them with 80% tread left. Yes, they really were that bad.

I went through a set of Michelin LTX M/S tires. Great tires, just rather expensive.

Then I went through BFG ATs and couldn't keep them round. And a couple of sets of GY Wrangler Silent Armors, which I really do like, but I just can't get enough tread life out of them.

New Michelin LTX M/S IIs on the way. More expensive than the GY SAs, but should also be good for an extra 20% tread life, and that's more than the price delta.

I've got a spare, going to get it home and see how she does. The seller says the tires are just starting to crack? I checked them out when I looked at it and I didn't think they looked that bad.

I'm going to replace two at a time with G rates tires. Not going to be cheap but should be worry free.

Noisy cricket?

Yep. Ruger 10/22 with a floated shooters ridge bull barrel, hogue overmold stock, bushnell banner scope, and metal trigger group. Gonna stop by gander mountain on the way to Brad's tonight and pick up a bigger mag! :D

Finally was warm enough and dry enough to see if my nut strip holes line up on my XJ. Front three holes (two of which I would need for my hitch) line up perfectly. Back hole, which I need, it not lining up perfectly (just like on the hitch). So to install it I either need to make two new holes in the hitch and not use the back hole (don't know how I fee about this, would that be safe?). My other option is to widen the hole on the hitch and XJ for the back hole. With my friends metal shop, tempted to do both. Very minimal, I will be widening the back holes so at least three holes line up. Need to do it this weekend or next weekend.

Should have gotten oem nut strips instead of hte JCR ones. OEM would line up perfectly I bet.

Remove caps, remove bumper, remove brackets, remove factory tailpipe hanger and nut strip. Install the JCR nut strips, verify the nuts line up with the holes in the chassis. If they do, remove strips, bolt strips to hitch using the holes that do line up, drill/modify hitch so that the other 4 bolts can be used. Factory part + factory part + aftermarket part = simple modification required.

Some hitches only use 6 bolts, some use 8. If the difference between using 6 and using 8 is drilling 2 holes, and elongating 2 holes, then do it.

It will be done, have to get a hold of my friend with the metal shop. I just frustrated easily.
