Important

Magnet mount antenna.

Anything else will get torn off by a tree and leave a big gaping hole in your sheet metal. For a trail rig, unfortunately, you must choose functionality over looks.

or just bite the bullet and blow the cash on a 4-bbl set-up. I thought about doing one of the TBI kits and junking the 100 year old half-working carb crap. But that is WAY more money than is available right now.
If the motor is an I-6, a 4bbl will be too big. The TBI kits are junk and not worth the time or money to put is on and take it back off again. Then you have to store it, you don't want to throw it out because you paid a lot of money for it, and no one will buy it used....

just got a call and the guy accepted my crazy low ball offer on the truck. So I am going over this eveing to get the deal sealed. New toter in the making: 1995 International 4700LP with the DT466 and wait...Air Conditioning! It is a short box freezer truck and they are removing the freezer box so I will get a cab n chasis...now to figure out which way I want to go as far as a sleeper/flat bed combo or full flat deck.....

Hell yeah Tyler, the Cheesehauler oughta be badass!

I drive semi for my living, I have twin 'glass antennas on my truck and I can reach out and touch. My Wilson mini-mag on my trail rig I never have the need to put out over 100 yards.

'glass antennas will easily break while wheeling, mag mounts will detach before breaking.

CB's are really a thing of the past, even while working it is rare to find intelligence on the other end of the mic.

This is my opinion, I'm not saying there is no other way to skin a cat.

Is that why you have them at work and home?

These deals that seem too good to be true always make me nervous. Wonder what else you're gonna find after you get it home.

Air brakes? Got your endorsement? 466 is a good motor. I'd put a sleeper on it, it could be multifunctional. Leave enough room to flat bed one, and trailer another, or pull your goose neck.

Got them at home for wheeling, at work cuz in traffic situations I will turn it on.

Nice! Is that a reg cab?

It is a good deal b/c the bank is going to own it if I dont buy it! :D It is squish brakes, so no need for endorsement. If it were a 4900 it would have air brakes. It is unfortunatly a straight cab, I really wanted a crew cab but this kind of fell in my lap. I have been looking for a decent sleeper that I can put on it and still ahve about an 8 ft flat bed that has a GN hitch under a trap door. My local diesel mecanic has done all teh work on the truck since it was bought new and it has had teh top gone through every 125K for good measure. It only has 400K on it and has the adjustable pump too. Tires are 95% up front and 75% rears, cab is basic International no frills, A/C needs a new condensor and a belt. All service records since new and only one small spot of rust on the passenger side door/rocker the size of a quarter. I spoke with teh bank and teh check goes straight to them and the freezer box will be removed and goes to another buyer which will pay off the guys bank loan. Hard economic times fell on the guys business and people just dont purchase as much from a vendor like him or Schwanns like they used to. I am hoping to have everything squared away this evening or tomorrow as long as it all goes as planned.

I had a friend get something very similar for toting their 5th wheel cattle hauler. Better than a one ton for running to cattle buys all over the Midwest. Sweet ride.

True. That's the sort of rig that I thought my Dad should have bought for hauling cherries. The 1ton Dodge does move the load, but it's really a marginal tow rig for better than 30,000 lbs. He decided to buy new, rather than a used day cab tractor to avoid buying a lemon.

Color me jealous... what about the suspension, is it air ride or leaf sprung?

I told myself after getting my tree-fiddy that my next truck would be an MDT, but I have been shopping lately and think I am going to stay light duty to get 4x4 and a truck I can drive daily if I need to. I would love to have a crew cab 4x4 IH4800, but they can be pretty spendy and I'd have to buy one that's already done since I don't really have anywhere to work on it.

And just think if you would have kept the freezer box, then you'd have A/C in there too! :D

The only electronic anything on the carb is the choke. I've cleaned up some of the rats nest of vaccuum lines. Rebuilding the turkey carb is the last thing to do to see if its worth trying to save the 2-bbl. intake set-up or just bite the bullet and blow the cash on a 4-bbl set-up. I thought about doing one of the TBI kits and junking the 100 year old half-working carb crap. But that is WAY more money than is available right now.

Junkyard TBI upgrade - 350 Chevy components. Cheap and easy to find parts anywhere. Should be a writeup on IFSJA somewhere. I was planning that for my Waggy but sold it before I could. It was going to get a AW4 also :D

it is a rough riding leaf rig...not fancy enough for air ride...but it had an air ride seat! LOL

I hope someone posts up on this b/c I am going to order one this week as well......

Clicked the order button last night. Gotta call just a minute ago from their office for a clerical error. Got that straightened out and the guy said it should be here Friday. Awesome. Good price, fast shipping and, from what I understand, a quality part. I didn't know I could get all 3 in one deal!

I got a response last night, apparently they are waiting on my 8.25 cover to be made before they ship everything out. I forgot KOH was going on so hopefully it's out soon, it just happened that I ordered a non-stocked part.

I understand stuff happens and based on their reputation I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

My open road handle is Rubberman.

HAHA! Yeah, well, it's a nod to my last name... I picked it out long before I quit using them.
