Important

98...so it doesn't have an egr valve. my guess is i have a short somewhere, my alternator is shot (though it reads 14v on the gauge when the engine is running) or the crap battery is really crap (8 months old) my xj is cranky, when it doesn't get enough voltage it always resets the idle. after it runs for about 10-15 minutes, its all good again. it always is fine in the afternoon, but its been getting down pretty cold at night since thursday
check the grounds.
Seriously, 9/10 out of ten when a friend says they need a new battery I clean all the cables and grounds and it runs fine.

My piece of junk 91 has been doing this to me. So I have been parking it on hills. I can pop start it in 3 feet now.

I think my duralast battery finally died because I only drive it every few weeks and it's getting cold.

I lol'd because I know how that works.

I live on a hil, my driveway is sloped. I could manage to coast it backwards with enough speed to make the 90* turn and then coast down the hill to roll start it.

Tint me jealous...

Gotta job interview for a service manager/store manager tomorrow. It think it's a little over my head but a good interview may change that. I hate being on the mans pay roll.

Parakeet

Had a friend tow one of their Heeps with a V-8 Exploder. It was ok. Was not windy and used a tow dolly not a flat car hauler. Braking he said was marginal at best. That was towing from Crivitz,WI to Crystal Falls, MI. Normally about 2 hours but towing was just under 3.

It has been a long while since the gratuitous gaping hole shot....

Well we got another future Jeeper welcomed into the world. Piper Lee at 0531 today. She was a week early, but at 8lbs 2oz no way close to being under weight. She was also the New Years baby for the county.

I lol'd because I know how that works.

I pop started mine 3x today, twice in reverse and once going forward. I had it parked nose-up with the front tires on a 3 foot dirt mound off the side of the woods road behind my house and the battery was dead, so that was the first. Then I went to park it in the "driveway" (steep hill about 10 feet long into the back yard) to block access to the yard while I was in NYC for the week and it wouldn't stay put because the slope was too much, so I had to pop start it down into the yard, do a bazillion point turn between the firewood pile and a stack of lumber, drive back up the "driveway", turn around again, and park it in the "driveway". halfway through the bazillion point turn I accidentally drove up the firewood pile a couple feet because I couldn't see it, and stalled out. Pop started it in reverse off the woodpile without running into the lumber stack :gee:

I really need to clear out some of the yard soon so I can move around easily. Fortunately the lumber stack, new shingle stack, and a jeep or two should be out of the way soon.
