Important

Thats slick. And the price isn't bad at all. Did it come painted?.

On another note...

Building the tail light boxes this week for the Birdcage. Anybody that's wired their LEDs in I have a couple questions and if you don't mind could you shoot me a PM.

Why not ask 'em here, or in ModTech?

Big thing is that you either need to wire a resistor in series with each LED, or replace your flasher module with an HD or an electronic blinker. LEDs by themselves won't draw enough current to trip an original bimetallic strip module.

Otherwise, you want to get LEDs with the same sort of leads as your original bulbs, i.e ground, stop & turn, a 2 wire white for reverse, etc.

I've searched on it quite a bit and have a vague understanding of doing it with the converter but just a few unanswered questions and didn't want to clutter the important thread with tech. If it turns into clutter on the important thread I can't say I didn't try to keep it out.:dunce: I'm looking to go to the T/S/B single 4" LED and a 2" amber side marker LED. Like I said I have a general concept but I have trouble with wiring sometimes and only want to do it once.

I won a set of FarmerMatt's LED boxes in 2004. No converter necessary, he bundled the right LED lamp assemblies so that all I had to do was splice the right connectors onto the LEDs. Before you start burning steel, get the right LED lamps.

The battery will not be in the stock location, but I will check if it will fit before I mount it in the rear.

It came bare metal, I painted it super cool yellow.

When I had LEDs, all I did was change the flasher like Jeff said.

edit: shipping was an additional $22. I think they just went the easy way with flat rate instead of shipping UPS.

Please do. My tray has a chunk broke out of it, and one of the tabs for the hold down bolts is broke off. My plan is to bolt a new universal style right to the base of the factory, but that looks much beefier.

Sure am glad I finished up the big jeep yesterday, just in time too. Went to take the grand cherokee for a ride and ended up getting a tow back from the wife. Transmission line puked out about three or four quarts of fluid. So, into the garage it went last night cause I am NOT working outside when it is -5 outside. :D

grr...stupid xj electrical system. trying to figure out if my battery is draining over night or not charging. last 3 days battery was low enough to kill the idle memory...makes it a pain in the ass driving through town to work.

its a cheap ass battery, so im hoping that its the battery and that i can exchange it under warranty till i have enough money to get an optima. but i don't have time for a load test until thursday (been working 8am-12am since we got back from the holidays) i guess if i wasn't so damn tired at the end of the night i would remember to put the charger on to see if the battery held a charge!

98...so it doesn't have an egr valve. my guess is i have a short somewhere, my alternator is shot (though it reads 14v on the gauge when the engine is running) or the crap battery is really crap (8 months old) my xj is cranky, when it doesn't get enough voltage it always resets the idle. after it runs for about 10-15 minutes, its all good again. it always is fine in the afternoon, but its been getting down pretty cold at night since thursday

My piece of junk 91 has been doing this to me. So I have been parking it on hills. I can pop start it in 3 feet now.

I think my duralast battery finally died because I only drive it every few weeks and it's getting cold.
