what, your too lazy to fix you own flat? Are you one of those lazy a$$ farmers, I have to deal with?

haha...Camille is NOT happy with me right now over this, but she will get over it..hell, this rig cost less then one of the tickets to Europe later this summer..she can STFU if she has a problem with it as far as I am concerned. (insert tough guy voice here..and NO, she is not her to see this :D )

Cheese "wanted to test drive both of them" Man
Yeah, you don't want her reading this and then posting under your name...Read a thread about that a while back. Lolz ensued, but the dude got dumped.

Am I really the only person doing nothing on a Saturday evening?

Apparently.

Deb & I are waiting for the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert to start. And that's after I worked 0200 to 0900 this morning.

^Like^ I'm glad I've got a support group.

After lamaze class today, we just have nothing going on.

You probably saw my FB status earlier, not much was accomplished to and and IDGAF! :D

got home a few hours ago from getting the XJ picked up. The new air intake on the truck really worked well with the full exhaust...noticable throttle response and better overall performance..and I never get tired of hearing that turbo pop off! :D Case decided he would help me clean it out tonight and spilled a full bottle of Febreeze in it...smells good now!

I'm four hours away from completing a double. Worked the first 8 for someone who is working for me in July when the Badlands UMC weekend is and the 2nd 8 hours for me...I'm ready for bed.

Nice cover shot Sean. They should have used a shot of the rigs that winced your ass back over.

i think we are gonna do the cupcake idea. heard of it? you just have like a huge tower of cupcakes and everybody gets one.

getting married on October 1 and haven't planned anything yet

Just spent the better part of an hour talking with the neighbor about a potential family project he's got. One of his uncles had a early Jeep that he's interested in getting running again. First problem is that it's stored in his cousin's garage, 50 miles away, and difficult to get to. Second problem is that he's not sure what it is, it could be anywhere from a 1943 MB to a 1951 CJ. It's got a Chevy smallblock, apparently a huge transmission leak (even though Tim thinks it's a stickshift.) Probably the worst thing is that it hasn't been turned over in 20-25 years, and although it was running when it was put in the garage, I'm willing to bet that it wasn't stored properly.

My advice was that it'd take a lot of time at an absolute minimum to get it running, and more likely, a bunch of parts. Don't even think about it from a monetary perspective. Already significantly modified, about the only thing left original is the tub, and that's been sandblasted and repainted blue (aftermarket soft top.) It might make sense from the family value direction, otherwise, run.
Oh. My. Gawd.

Tim got it home yesterday. What a hack job.

I think he said it's a '53 CJ.
Chevy small block.
Looks like the original axles, albeit with lockouts. I'd expect these to live a short unhappy life, unless you're very careful with the throttle.
Original brakes. Single circuit, no boost and apparently completely non-functional. Complete rebuild and/or replacement.
The tub has been pierced in numerous locations for wiring, shifters, etc. All holes cut poorly with an oxy-acetylene torch. No major rust, but it's a hack job.

Aside from his family heirloom value, this thing is worth more as scrap, it's really badly done.

Getting Ready to head to a buddy and fellow XJ owners wedding. Then i gotta talk to him about his XJ being stupid. His shift solenoid sounds like its going out on him. His XJ is a 99 and as a wedding gift I gave him a hitch and set of THB's and hooks. Hopefully I can get him out wheeling with us someday.

These things will do his wife well...great gift:cool:

I suppose the only real benefit to her is that he won't have to ask her for the money to buy them.

gonna do a little clean up work on the new XJ. In the meantime, I am making a beautiful aroma in the house slow cooking the following:

4# of pork roast,
2 red bell peppers
1 green bell pepper
1 red onion
1 white onion
1 can of chipolte peppers in sauce
1 can of salsa verde
2 packages of taco seasoning
2 cans broth
2 cans Rotel
and a few "secret" ingredients and spices....

smeels freaking delicious!!! And it will taste even better at about 6:00 this evening for dinner.
