Important

He wont budge on the price now b/c he supposedly has someone coming to look at and buy it tonight for the full asking price. I told him he has my number if he reconsiders.

I am but i keep wasting gas going down there. I can live with my gas guzzling beast but i have been down there twice for no damn reason basically.

I have talked to Cardboard and he is gonna drag it up here for me. I will have it in the next couple days. The motor is knocking so I am gonna save it the 30 mile drive and have the rod bearings replaced to last until i can find a 3.4 or bigger to swap into it! I also talked him down since he's been playing games with me I figured it was my turn! :D

I'll come get it for free, but I get to keep it :D

4.10s with 35s and a stick I was getting 21-22 on the highway. 18-19 in the city.....

correct speed tooth count? hand figured?

ordered a new brake assembly for my winch today. also bought a wireless winch controller, seeing how I use my winch so much. :D

now to buy a new axle shaft and joints.

What u-joints do you guys like? CTM, Yukon super joints, or...

I like 60 parts...

just bought the Yukon joints. $400/pr. ouch. better than the CTM's at $500/pr.

new outter $110.

remote $100

brake for winch $170

I need to work some OT now.

You are still putting money in a d44?

I get 13 on the highway. Its been like that for a year or so now. Havent really done much diagnostics on it. Its 3 inch lift and 31s

This is real world...probably don't have any problems...just not lying...

Like Big Stank said, is this hand figured? Same person pumping the gas? Same gas station? Are speedometers/odometers dialed in and correct, reading correctly?

mac 'it means more at over $4 bucks a gallon' gyvr

Some of you are showing some great numbers. It would be nice to know some details. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter choice, tire make and size, etc...

The 98 2dr Upcountry was getting 16 city, 24 hwy. Details are simply that it is a 5spd 4.0L that has 180K on the odometer. I did a basic tune when I got it, regular plugs and a cap and rotor Fram Airfilter. Using NAPA brand 10w30 regular dino oil. Stock 225X75X15 on factory Steel Sport rims. Stock exhaust.

Then I put on 2" more inches of lift, and 30" BFG ATs on Moab Wheels (32psi). I'm still getting 16 in town, but only 22 hwy. If I throw the Kayaks on top, that Hwy mileage drops considerably ;)

Honestly, most any XJ in stock trim should get 20-24 hwy. Less if you put a mild lift and OS tires on it, and much less if you lift it more put larger tires, or put a FS rack on it. If it's stock, and it's not getting 20 on a regular basis, you should give it a good tune up, get that 40W oil out of the engine, and re-evaluate your driving habbits.

Flex, I'd shred the f'n title and mail it back to him,
tell him to GFHS.

Its in my Driveway now. Thank you Again Mike(cardboard)!

My buddy should be in the motor replacing the bearings soon and if that doesnt help i'm gonna look for a 3.4! :D

Gawd... I need a real employer...

Phone call today after 5pm.. I find out tomorrow whether I have to fly to Baltimore tomorrow or Wednesday. This crap is getting stupid. 7 years now of this.

Any one get noticeable gains with the stock roof rack taken off?

Nope, but taking the Surco off helped me out quite a bit.

Been getting anywhere between 20-22mpg highway in the daily driver WJ (4.0L, small lift, 31s).

The XJ got just shy of 20mpg on long trips, haven't checked it since it has been cut. Speedo is correct, hand figured, amazed the hell out of me.

Seriously considering leaving the truck/trailer at home and driving the cherokee to the trails this year.

well look who is among the living! Good to see ya back on the boards Trav. Missed seeing ya at WF this year. Camille asked where the cute guy was :D, I thought she was refering to Rev :dunno:

What Tyler Said! Travis how you holding up buddy?

good morning jeepers, hows today going? stupid rain wont let up long enough for my basement to get dry. every day i have to squeegee the puddles into the pump hole.

stupid leakage!!

The xj does 17 hwy if I'm lucky. Hand figured with my gas log that I've featured elsewhere here. The v8 wj got 23 hwy but really stunk in town, mighta been the heavy foot though.

"Sent from my Droid X using the factory browser" .!. :D .!.

1.) I find that crap annoying, I really don't care what you sent it with as long as its English.
2.) My laptop has been off for two weeks now since I caught up to the decade.

On a pure highway trip, I get about 20mpg. I am stock with 235's. In town I get 16. I usually don't try to gun it too much and 95% of the time get gas at the same station.

Not trying to bust balls, but it bothers me quite a bit when people explain the size of thier tires with one number from a metric size. Basically, you just told everyone that your tires are 9.25" wide. Or when people talk about their tires like: "I put 65s on instead of 70s..." Yeah, and? People don't seem to understand that that second number is an aspect ratio for the sidewall height. Meaning it is totally useless unless you know the first number. So, of your tires are 235/75/XX People still only know that your tread is 9.25" wide, your sidewall is 6.9" tall and even then you know that that tire is 14" tall without rim size. So a 235/75R15 should be around, give or take, 29" tall. All those numbers actually mean something. Whudda thunk?

Absloutely great to hear from you. I was just wondering the other day where you've been. Glad to see ya pop up!

As far as my mileage goes...

When I threw the BB and the 30.5" street tires on my pile, I noticed an amazing increase in mileage. I never did the hard numbers on paper, just payed attention to how much gas it took at the pump for the same trips. I knew the speedo was off so I knew I couldn't trust the factory mathematics. The Yakima didn't help. Ran it for a little while without the rack and it seemed to improve some more. Now that I've got heavy bumpers, 3" lift and heavy 31s...it dropped a lot.

Mine didn't drop much with all the armor but when i put more lift on it i noticed a decrease too.

Hello Everyone, I'm not dead!

Been busy trying to finish school and working on the Jeep.
Fixed the alignment by reconnecting the sway bar...
Replaced O2 sensor that was smashed into the chassis at WF, still have to replace the muffler with a straight-pipe...

I still don't know where I'm being placed for Student Teaching this fall, so for now, any long-distance events will be no-go due to the unknown job factor... I would still like to get together with some peeps here in Wisconsin, maybe Northwoods Overland, or Pipeline?

Hopefully I'll be able to get on here more as the school-year comes to a close...

Peace,

Tex
