Important

Hey Jeff. I deleted my post. I spoke off what I hear all the time. Decided I would get my own info and decided I was wrong. You are correct in your post.

I did the same thing, I was incorrect. While the DPF delete is technically illegal it improves fuel mileage and, therefore, helps with the fuel crisis! :D I don't condone such an illegal activity and it should be frowned upon........

I like DPF's and SCR's... Without them I wouldnt have my current job.

Did I just see a LEO post that he is going to take his vehicle in and have the shop break Federal Law for deleting mandanted emissions equipment?

Actually, that's not quite true. Use of a DPF delete kit is still against EPA regs, as it's a removal of Federal mandated exhaust equipment. Look at the fine print, I'll bet that it says "for off road use only" on the kit.

I'm sure that everyone on this board has followed every rule and never done anything in a manner to violate any laws.

The Ford dealer suggested this modification to me...

To me (its gonna sound like I'm agreeing with Flex), the better fuel economy is by far a better trade off in using less diesel than the emissions.

Its still amazing to me that an older 70s model car with a well tuned carb and no emission equipment has in the past done better on a sniff test than a newer car with all the mpg robbing crap on it.

I think that cummins/dodge has done a better job with the DPF system than the other two manufacturers. Too bad their interiors suck and they didn't make a crew cab long bed til 2010 and I can't afford that...

Cool... gonna go bury a battery or 2 and drink every cup of coffee out of a fresh styrofoam cup? :D

Actually, the dealer might want to be rather careful about suggesting that sort of thing, I'll bet the EPA would take a much dimmer view of him saying that than you just doing it.

Nice, I made one that says REWSTERS beer that I'm gonna stick on my beer this weekend

Ha just noticed "perfect for currency"

I'm gonna have some fun with that. Anyone else remember the beer names from page 28 of this thread? Some of them still work, others are a bit dated.

Funny you mention urea "DEF"... The latest I heard we are going to DEF because of customer demand. The competition has customers convinced they have a better system. Now we are stuck doing what they do because of image.

The one cool thing about DEF is that we can crank up the power as long a we crank up the DEF.

Big "wish the world knew who designed everybodies systems" Hank.

P.S. It's all based on grams of crap per HP. Cummins can keep their HP number low by design resulting in lower "crap" numbers, keeping Barack happy.

Grams of Crap, compared to CAT's gallons of crap! :D
