is it me, or is your axle bent. it looks like the top of the tires tip out, more so on the left.

I think it's optical illusion, if you look at the tube compared to the bumper they look fairly parallel. D60 is the pure sex.

Anyone know what thread the harmonic balancer bolt is? I need to pick up a longer one to do that later this afternoon. Yes I could search, but that would suck.

For real?

Yes ,I'm pretty bummed about it....Heck,I'm still waiting on one wheel to show up and all the parts to build the steering links.Driveshafts still need to be built and on and on and on.....

That does suck, Nick we'll have to get a dirty turtle run together when you get her finished!

I keep forgetting to post this...

I saw a Naperville Fire Truck in Fort Wayne on Wednesday night. It was a ladder truck. Guy said that he was going to Canada so the truck could be refurbished...I stopped him because it looked odd and in a post 9-11 world...you just never know...

mac 'no tickets issued' gyvr

Naperville is where Rev and I grew up. Live one town over now.

no doubt, better to be safe than sorry.

I actually got pulled over a few years back in the combine by a new city cop that was green as could be..he tried to argue with me on it being an oversized load and needed banners.....I had to explain to him that he needed to go back and read the laws pertaining to ag equipment.

Cheese "book'em Danno" Man
Da boy must have been from the city.

Occasionally, I see farm equipment on Highway 52 here. 18' wide equipment and 70+mph traffic don't mix well. Shoot, last fall, I followed 3 combines pulling their headers on trailers behind them go right through town.

harvest season brings many traffic backups in my area. I especially like the farmers that are too lazy to pull the duals off when they roadie it. Making it impossible to pass, or for oncoming traffic to get by.

Granted I understand that harvesting needs to get done and food needs to get to the table. So county roads and some highways I understand. But three big JD combines on Hwy 41 through Green Bay? No fields within miles or implement dealers for that matter, 3 lanes of 70 mph traffic at 4pm and they have their heads on.

<chuckle> Not through Green Bay, through a leetle tiny burg halfway between the Twin Cities and Rochester.

I've heard that 48' wide headers are available now. Even a 20' header I wouldn't want to drive down the highway.

No, no. I've seen that in Green Bay. Rhetorical question there, sorry for the confusion.

Claas. No surprise there.

Brian, that's almost idiotic to be doing that on US41. Even considering the laws governing implements of husbandry, that's gotta be well outside the legal limits. The newer headers are all designed as quick-tach designs, all of the hydraulic and electrical hookups run through a single monster connector assembly.

I mean out on 29, a 4-laner, its common since it runs through farmland. Or north of GB up towards Crivitz on 141 where it does the same. From Abrams south to where it cuts through Milwaukee 41 is a limited access and I've seen equipment on certain stretches. Not sure what the laws are.

As long as it's not a limited access freeway, farm equipment is almost certainly legal. The overwide... that's another discussion.

The plan is to turn Highway 52 into a limited access freeway all the way from the Twin Cities to Rochester. It's been in the works for 20+ years, and will probably take at least that much longer. The last traffic lights on it will probably be gone in about 3 years.
