wifi or just an internet connection?

Note to self: Do not build a trailer with single wide parts.

My two place is $200 from being paid off!

house trailer axles are not built for repeated use, the bearings are cheap and are designed to make the trip from the factory to the home site. you can buy upgraded bearings for these however, but then you run into the tires being junk and you're on the side of the road changing tires when you should be at your destination wheeling. :) however, the up side to the cheap tires is that they're cheap. you can buy a mounted tire for $30 around here, but like the saying goes, "buy two, they're cheap".

the answer to your question Josh, yes, we do that here too. that's how I have this information.

One way axles are what we call them in Indiana.

He's converting a cellular data signal into a short distance 802.11 peer-to-peer connection. At least on my A855 Droid, I've got a number of options, open, WEP, MAC filtering and a few others to control access to it.

I still amazes me that someone would put the time and effort into something like that. Clearly someone spent a few weekends chopping up metal and welding this thing together, but couldn't go to TSC and spend 300 bucks on a good set of axles.

Maybe it's just me. I'm the guy that pulls into the campground with 8 straps on the jeep, checks the tire pressures at every stop and worries about the details.

When I'm towing :D The rest of the heep is a mess.

Not just you, I check the straps on my stuff all the time, i grab the hubs, feel the tires just to make sure that everything is not to hot. I'm anal retentive about my trailers. I have spare bearings in the box on both of my trailers and i now carry two spare tires as well.

My two place just made the KOH trip there and back with zero issues...5200 miles...the other two trailers in our group both had problems.

Or, as Jeff would call you; careless. :D

I won't check the tire pressures at every stop, but they all get kicked, and the hubs checked to make sure they're not running hot. As well as checking all the straps.

I made a $400 mistake coming home from WF '07. The trailer I rented blew a tire and I had to call one of those come fix you on the interstate places because the trailer I rented didn't have a spare. I'm certain it was because the tire was low.

So now I check all the time.

That's exactly what I do. I use axle straps. Two on the front and two on the rear. Sometimes we put a chain through the D-rings on the front bumper just because. I usually spray the ratchets on the straps down with WD-40 before I put them up too.

Hale "wish I towed the jeep more" Yes.

If it were me, I'd run the extra chain at the rear. I'm not likely to break a strap under acceleration, but I know I can brake a heckuva lot harder than I can speed up.

Yeah, never thought of it that way.
Thanks.

Guess I was thinking, more along the lines of "Hey Lar, is the Jeep still back there?"

:D

Battery gave up the ghost in the Heep...
After rounding off a couple bolts, got it out and tested it... 6.4volts 0CA 0CCA
Wouldn't take a charge...

New battery in and Heep is ready for WinterFest!

I am tethered I will never in 100 years get to 5 GB data, but it sure us nice reading e-mails on the laptop than on the Droid.

What program do you use? I have Sprints HTC Evo and am scared to try any of the programs found on the web without confirmation of effectiveness beforehand.

I lost a tire coming home from Cliff's.. I had checked the pressure before I left home that morning. Turned out I had those bad chinese valve stems on all five tires. One cracked through enough that it caused the flat.

I haven't lost a tire on the two place yet, but I did have belts go bad...eventually on all four tires, two got bulges two weren't round...

the single place has smoked tires, bearings and all sorts of things but I've always caught it before it left me stranded...

I also check straps and hubs at every stop.

I had a finicky trailer brake issue a while back and had a shop make a repair the morning I was leaving for Windrock. I made it down there with no known issues, but as I was leaving to come back north, I could hear a bearing clicking. The mechanic had apparently tightened the bearings just far enough to slowly toast them, and I got to replace bearings in a bank parking lot in TN. Good for some looks. Luckily caught it before I hit higher speeds on the interstate.

this will be the first year I fully go through my trailer. bought it new in 08 and have had great luck so far. tires still look good.

putting a new brake controller in the Ram (they're not getting any cheaper), and some helper springs (as soon as the UPS gets them here).

I had some hardwood flooring in the cart last night for the camper, reason ended up winning out over bling before I made it out of the store.
