Important

We have a name for people like that, and it is "tire kickers". Can't stand that kind of crap.

Once people start trying to jack me around and lower an already reasonable price by giving me the "what if I only want this part" treatment I usually just stop bothering... I prefer to stick what I know is a reasonable to very reasonable price on my stuff and wait for someone to buy it or offer me a trade that I like the sound of.

I hate paying the actual value of what things are. I like deals. Most people will go down on their price. the worst they can say is no. cost me nothing to ask, and in the case of the pu camper, I got it 1/2 price. :D

If I put something on Craig's list with a full detailed description with pictures, and a price, you had better not text me asking for more details and a "bottom dollar".
You probably will not be sending me any Christmas and birthday cards.
Craig's List reminds me of an online version of 1970s CB people.

NICE score Dan. I wish I would have found a deal like that on mine..I over paid for what I have...seemed like a good deal at the time.

I hate dickering over price, but my DD a Grand Cherokee, she said it "had to be worth $1000". I told her" not to me I have 2 others". I got it for $400 & a water pump later, I drive it every day.

I'll tell you why.

this is listed on CL, the price is $700. I asked what their bottom dollar is and they said $500. I said how bout $350 and they said okay.

Good deal

kinda on the same note

i sold a XJ that i bought for 100 bucks on CL for 800

had it listed for 1300 people came said whats your bottom price

i said a grand

they said they had 800 cash
i said that will work
and i was up 700 bucks

In that case I'm just gonna go back and ask $22,000 for my truck then when I say $16,000 is my bottom dollar, they can offer $14,500 and I'll take it.

Why when you have your vehicle for sale and listed at a certain price do people call and ask what your bottom dollar is? example: I have it listed for $20,000 but if you call and ask what my bottom dollar is I will reveal that I would actually take $12,000 for it?

Doesn't make any sense, people get all pissy when they ask you your bottom dollar and you tell them it's what you're asking for it.

Even worse... I see ads ALL THE TIME that have, say, $1800 as the price, and then in the text of the ad it will say "I will take no less than $1500."

Why not just list it for $1500?

going to pick it up this morn.

for this price I might keep it, or sell it after WF

I was just looking on CL yesterday for one... after checking out Tyler's at Redbird it is seeming more and more appealing to me. So if you're looking to part ways with it in the future and if it's in halfway decent shape and will work in a shortbed, I would probably be interested.

Just Got word my uncle had a massive heart attack this morning and was rushed into surgery. Everyone please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for me. He is one tough old bastard but heart attacks are never good. Not exactly how I wanted to spend half a vacation day but my aunt needs me there.

Great I try to be like Tyler and buy a camper and now you want one! :D

Craigslist story:

I had a riding mower for sale for $50 (pretty bad shape). Guy shows up to buy it and only has 3 twenties and tries to offer me $40. I told him I already had so many people call and say they want it so I will just stick with my $50 asking price. He asked if I had change, my answer was no. I ended up getting $60 for it.......

So that you can still get 1500 even after the hagglers are done with it!

I just don't like haggling.

That sucks... hope he gets better.

Dan if that thing is in usable shape at all, its worth what you are paying for it. I got mine for $1500 (seems to be an average price for a 20 year old truck camper in decent shape) and use the crap out of it. I have spent another 800+ doing upgrades and adding the a/c with heat, but well worth it!

This will be my first winterfest with my own legit setup...

mac 'still unpacking...to start repacking' gyvr

I gave $1800 for mine and it was a nice clean one owner unit will good vinyl, but still a bit over priced. I have put a elec fridge and microwave in it...still thinking about the roof top A/C unit like macs. Oh, and I put hardwood floors in it too b/c we had some left over from another project. :D Also had to have some new curtains made since the ones with horses and people playing polo were not my thing!
