Important

my battery was dead this morning.

But it has died on me like 3 or 4 times in the last few weeks. I think I have a parasitic draw somewhere but haven't bothered to track it down yet. The problem is that it's an intermittent parasitic draw... :smsoap: I hate intermittents.

battery disconnect switch fixes all.

considered it. I hate having to lift the hood in lousy weather though. If I can find a place to get a contactor capable of handling a few hundred amps for cheap enough I might add a remote disconnect... would not bother putting it between the starter and the battery, just the alt + all the electronics.

Doesn't 5-90 sell something like that??

He does, but it's $90 for a 200A one (a good price for brand new.) I can scrounge one from a surplus dealer or at the junkyard for a lot less than that... and I'm a scrounger by nature :gee:

Breaking news........

whatca think about this new ghettohackfab modification

magnetic bumpstops :D

i have been bored at work today and started looking around all my old warranty parts, i have a wall full of speakers so i looked and the magnet on the back is just under an inch thick pretty much looks like a metal hockey puck :D perfect for a free bump stop right?

note: if i do use thees i will prolly use liquid nails in between and on the bottom just like the hockey puck style, the above is merely for your entertainment

smashed the first time it stops anything, the magnets are not durable.

liquid nails works great, I got hockey pucks with the axle from lawn cher 3 years ago and they rock out.

yea im gonna try and find a sell it again sports store tonight for some hockey pucks

Magnets are fully adjustable....

need more bumpstop add a magnet.....

need more up travel take out a magnet....

:D

it's the next step in suspension evolution...

first there were leaf springs
then there were coil springs
then there were coilovers, airshocks, and airbags
next - electromagnetic suspension, you can hook it up to your sub amp and get a truly earthquake-like audio experience

Geez... for the Dodge and XJ, I pay less than 1,200/year. Flat-bed and pop-up trailers are another couple of hundred.

I dont even want to add up how much I pay for insurance. We are looking into switching companies to Farm Bureau from our current carrier b/c when I tried to adjust my rate for the winter months of not having cattle on 2 of the farms, they were being a pain in the ass to deal with and they also had that "deer in the headlights" look. From the number of vehicles, pieces of machinery, animals, land and buildings we insure you would think they would send me a cake once a month...homemade at that!!
