Important

I dont even want to add up how much I pay for insurance. We are looking into switching companies to Farm Bureau from our current carrier b/c when I tried to adjust my rate for the winter months of not having cattle on 2 of the farms, they were being a pain in the ass to deal with and they also had that "deer in the headlights" look. From the number of vehicles, pieces of machinery, animals, land and buildings we insure you would think they would send me a cake once a month...homemade at that!!

Farm bureau can suck a big one! I had to deal with them when their customer got drunk and pulled in front of me. Bunch of idiots at this one. I'm sure if I were their customer they wouldn't have left me without a vehicle for 3 of the 6 weeks I was waiting on a check!

and I got pissed when state farm raised my rate $30 a half when I changed cars.

You guys must take it too easy on the insurance man. My guy is pretty cool, but he knows I'm super cheap.

Any one know of some sort of program I can put on my computer that will run continuously and log or chart the time and signal strength of my ISP's signal?
I know in the electrical field I can attach a meter to the incoming power and monitor the voltage supplied by the power company and it displays as a graph.
I would rather have 10 meg 100% than 28 meg for 80%, but Charter doesn't understand that.

Charter? Cable?

It's not just signal strength. Cable TV Internet systems are shared media, and speed drops like a rock when a lot of customers are active. In the afternoon here, between 3:00 and 5:00 PM, speeds are around half of the high speed.

You want to run a continuous graphing speed test.

I borrowed a Miller 220 volt mig welder to do all the heavy welding on the axle swap. What a great machine.

I want one...

Think of cable internet like plumbing. most of it is hybrid fiber/coax

You've got a water main (fiber) that comes to a node (coax). If everyone on the block turns on all of the taps in their house at the same time the water main can't keep up, and pressure (speed) drops.

not a whole lot you can do about it, as all ISP's have it worded so that their service is "up to" a certain speed. They make no guarantees, only that they have to provide you with "adequate" service.

If you suspect that you have a signal issue rather than a node speed issue then you can have them come and put a graphing meter on your coax line for a few days. It will report back to them your signal strength for a few days and they will fix it if it's a signal loss problem. If it's just simply not enough bandwidth for all of the porn your downloading then URF.

Millers are nice, my dad has one and so does the guy who has welded my shock mount a couple times. They are nice machines.

Nice score! Happy birthday to Nate!

Goldie is done and ready to go on the trailer for WF. Today was a productive day and I got a ton done. I even replaced the drivers side rear door handle that has been broke for like 5 years...and it took all of 30 minutes. :D

I took the rear seat out and have it where I can fit my 36" spare in there as well as my tool totes etc. If I had the extra steel, I would have made a prerunner style spare tire holder, that is a lot better then hanging if off the back for my style (or lack there of) of wheeling.

I have got to get back on this site more often than the once a week rate I'm at now. It takes way too long to read through this thread. And now I don't even get too interested in other threads. I'm saddened. NAXJA used to be my go-to site when bored at work. At the new place, the internet terminals are pretty well blocked up and I'm still not certain on the big brother situation.

the girl i was suppose to take out tonight stood me up.

so here i sit, with a case of beer, on naxja with you guys.
