Important

darn mythbusters are wrecking perfectly good XJs tonight. atleast they arent 97+ XJs. hopefully they're RENIX XJs lol

you ever notice that there is usually an XJ in the good chase scenes? like the one in Gone in 60 Seconds, that got hit by the wrecking ball and pushed through the wall. That was cool.

this was intertaining...

There's still plenty of XJ's around.

Ever watched old A-Team episodes? They wreck about 10 perfect condition CJ's every episode, it's sickening. I have to keep reminding myself that they weren't classic back then.

In the movie "Taken," there is a pretty slick chase scene with a white XJ.

I think it might have been an alright movie, only saw it once and I don't really remember much of it.

in the chase scene in taken. listen to the jeep. they added v8 sounds to it. lol

JR showed up this evening and we polished off the rest of the remaining nacho cheese in the shop and a 12 pack to boot. Got the front bumper on Red Rocket a bit closer to being done and it is looking pretty damn good if I do say so myself. I will finish it off with some wrap around sides and some lateral bracing to those sides and it will be about done. Not sure weather to paint it or send it off for powder...probably paint since it is cheaper. Here is a crappy cell phone pic of tonights progress.

I'm watching the dukes and they are wrecking perfectly good 69 chargers...

mac 'wants a general lee' gyvr

I gotta call from Rewster last night with a screaming kid on the phone and he said "...Welcome to fatherhood." I could only imagine the evil grin he had on his face...

paint it. power chips and is harder to repair once it's cracked and peeling. paint it and keep painting it
Exactly what I was gonna say.

Powder coat is awesome for mall crawlin' and show trucks but the second you scratch it, it is all over. Rustoleum is forever, as long as they keep making the same colors anyways.

this is true, but in my comanche im swapping in a 4.0L HO so i'd like to keep them around a little longer

I have a plethora of Renix specific parts that I've acumulated, but you just don't see them in the yards anymore.

The biggest thing was a spare throttle body + sensors and IAC. Damned IAC motors are like $400. I heard at some time that you could swap a generic holley one in, but never actually saw part numbers or results.

I wouldn't mind the HO wiring harness, cause AMC couldn't wire a vehicle for crap, but I don't want OBD engine controls, the Renix is bulletproof.

I'm thinking I need to hit up my junkyard... 6 Cherokees in there of various dates... Could be a market on this stuff... ;)

Chrysler can't either.

Whip out the FSMs and make yourself a custom harness, or map the existing harness and reproduce it with better quality materials. I would suggest fine-strand silver plated copper wire with teflon insulation, thermal adhesive sealed hydraulically crimped splices, and as many military canon-style connectors as you can use. The old weatherpak connectors used on most of the RENIX parts unfortunately suck at keeping the weather out.

Most of my harness has been removed or replaced.

There's enough wire in my junk to make the lights work and the motor run, not much else left.

At some point I had planned on doing that project with an HO style PDC under the hood, but that was too much work, and I'm not that motivated. I must have dpone something right, because it sat for about 2 months until I started it up last week. Fired right up after the typical Renix lag. Didn't even have to touch the battery or pop the hood, I was rather surprised.

Honestly thgouh, my CPS has been connected to the harness with two wire nuts for like 3 years.
