Ugh... thought I had bad allergies today. Now the throat is scratchy and I'm getting a cough. Looks like I'm looking forward to a weekend of being sick.

Still probably going to the Badlands Saturday, unless I can't move. :D

Rainforests can't cure any diseases that Attica mud won't.

I guess a better word would have been "safety" instead of security. Having 14,000#s hanging of your rear bumper isn't nearly as safe has having 14,000#s sitting over your rear axle.

Not trying to be an ass...

But the bumper pull hitch on my truck is rated for 16k. Is that not safe or secure? If the equipment is rated for the task are they not equally as safe?

Before I owned trailers and towed stuff all over the place I used to think that a gooseneck was the end all be all answer and that you were pushing your luck with big bumper pull trailers...til I started pulling big trailers...now I'm as comfortable with the big bumper pulls as I am with goosenecks, I personally think that a bumper pull is more predictable than a gooseneck...and I have thousands of towing miles with both...

mac 'just buy a single place bumper pull and go wheelin' gyvr

there is a lot of truth to that mac. I pull a trailer at least 6 days a week in some fashion or another. And they are all different from GN to ball hitch to pintle hitch to 3 point hitch on a tractor or even the farm semis. I used to think that GN was the "ultimate" trailer and now I am to the point that I would rather pull my litte 20" bumper pull w/ my truck and the XJ loaded on it then I would taking the GN....but I am still thinking about mounting the new camper on the GN and having a "hillbilly hauler"...but wifey is thinking it may be a bit to redneck....:dunno:

Cheese "get a trailer that works for you and roll with it " Man

I've almost got my parts account at work paid off. So in a few months (fingers crossed nothing major needs fixed) I'll start buying up some parts for my build. Shouldn't be too long and I'll have another Aussie in and have my 4.5 inch hybrid lift all put together. I figure it will be good to go in 4 or 5 months...maybe a bit longer depending on how I budget the rest of my $$.

My vacation starts.:clap:I'll be in the bathroom most of the week.....

Man, its one of those days where everything gets under my skin. People whining and bitching is getting on my nerves. I think I need one of Urban Yan's chops of Cherbear to cheer me up! :D

i understand where you're coming from. to each his own i suppose. I've pulled both, and i like the GN better then the bumper pull. i will tow my folks boat all day on our bumper pull. but when i worked on the farm and had to tow hay. i loved having the GN

Ah, I feel much better today. Shot my buddy's 12 gauge and his Colt King Cobra .357 mag along with my 9mm. That Colt was by far one of the most badass guns I have ever shot!
