As far as winch cable weights go. I use a moving blanket.
While I was in the USAF we were working putting ICBM's in the hole. If winds kicked up beyond 30mph we had to tie it down with a series of cables and cable come-alongs. (8ton) We would use old rubber mats or the big flexible mud flaps from a big rig. Keep in mind the missiles were 16 feet wide and 50 feet high. The tie down points were about 25-30 feet up and ran at a 60 degree angle down to tie down points. The mat would actually stop a large share of the back lash. The force dies fairly quick unless there is a weight at the end of the cable, i.e. a hook.

Hopefully uploading some pics of the Creep by the end of the week... Lots of new things I havn't taken pics of yet... Also meeting up with the owner of MaxBilt (www.maxbilt.com) tomorrow and heading out to his home shop/Jeep test course.... His company only makes products for round-light jeeps, but I might be changing that... ;)

****IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT**** Flex, is going back to work Monday postwhoring will slow down a little! :D

well, they've been working 12 hour shifts solid so I think I will have plenty of overtime to keep me busy.

Got my first stroker induced speeding ticket today. 77 in a 65. The last 3 times I've gotten pulled over I've been able to pull away with a warning.... Not today. Oh well 3 out of 4 aint bad right.

Started a part time gig today. Trying to get the "move to the country" rat hole built up.

So it looks like I'm unofficially working for MaxBilt... It'll be on/off this summer depending on how much work they have... Also have been put in charge of designing and fabricating some new products geared toward the XJ crowd, so keep an eye out for some threads by me...

looking good Aaron, I packaged up my steering to ship tomorrow to Jake. I decided to work on my stiffeners and got the drivers side all cut and notched to fit around my TNT belly pan and side mounts. I hope to get the pass side notched and trimmed tomorrow and have them ready to weld by tomorrw night. Called Ballistic today also and got the info for my new steering, but waiting on them to restock the 3/4-5/8 r QA1 rod ends next week...going all out on this one!

I happened to be on BTF's site the other day and saw they have QA1 rod ends now. In case you can get them quicker or you're in a rush. http://bluetorchfab.com/store/index.php?cPath=35_40
