Wishing the best for your dad.

Knew from High School that my garage was gonna have more sq ft that my house.

Going on 48 hrs w/o major sleep now.

spent 6 hours with the heep today she is now ready for wf. I might start working on making her look better now......but I doubt it.

Hope to get the trans back in the Nissan Xterra today and back to the owner .I still think it's possessed...:firedevil

Those Nissans are Satans spawn of the transmission world! I worked on the chore truck for a few minutes today and between having a splitting headache and not really in the mood to mess with it, I got the bolts started around the tarnny into the motor and starter and that is where I said hell with it for now. Next up is the t-case and it is a royal biatch to put in due to the size and space allowed...

On a positive note I worked on the rig last night and fabbed up some brackets on the front bumper for the Hella's that I have had for a while. I installed another factory switch in the dash so it is all ran nice and factory looking, so that is completed for now :yelclap:

Dad's shop (built in 1968) is a 40x70 clear span, poured concrete floor, with 14' high rolling doors (probably 24-28' opening.) And after 40 years, it still doesn't creak with the wind.

Dad's in pretty rough shape. He's asleep right now, I'm posting from the easy chair next to his bed.

I like the comparison.

For whatever it's worth, that's exactly how I would want to mark my twilight years: With something I'd built that was going to last, something appreciated by those I knew and loved...

Sorry, I don't do sappy very well...

It's all good, man.

I can finally keep up with him.

X2 for sure...Tyler, If your removing the trans. beware of the Bull Chit CPS wire harness thats about three inchs long .... It's on the driver's side ,with a nice heat shield to block the plug.So ya can't see it. Then when you drop the trans about four inches to check for wiring... It's to late you pulled the wires out of the plug.

I'm happy to say it's done and out of the garage...:yelclap:

Now back to gettin' the jeeps ready for WF.OH-TEN

I just need to get the t/case buttoned up now and a u-joint in the possessed POS and get it out of my shop...I think it is spewing bad juju into my shop.....

Worked a bit on my rear shock mounting set up for the XJ last night...not sure if it is going to work like I intended, but gonna give it a shot.

Helped a friend drop the transmission of his 90s mustang yesterday, it wasn't too bad but I miss the extra room of working on a lifted jeep.Overall pretty good but we haven't tried to put it back in yet, I went camping instead. Now if I could just find some time to work on my heep...

24,000lbs of winch, 8" of ice, the ice won.

Bathroom remodel is eating my lunch.
It took us nearly all day yesterday and part of today to get the tub surround set. It's still not perfect but it's as closes as it has been. I don't think......no, I know there is nothing that is square in this house.
Walls will be textured tomorrow followed by paint. Then the flooring, pooper and vanity. Not to mention that the budget is now non-existent.

We've been camping at the in-laws just down the road.

Never again.

Sounds like my house. It was built 18 months ago.

Every miter in the trim at my parent's house is a custom cut. Nothing was square.

Maybe you would have saved time by doing those little 1 inch tiles instead of the surround :D

I've been tossing an idea in my head around the last few days. And I got my wife to okay it. My son turns 13 this June, and he loves going wheeling with me and the club. He's already talking about getting a jeep and doing the mud run thing. I work a ton in the fall and usually have a little spare coin. So this year we are going to by my son a 4-500 dollar XJ and we are going to get it ready to go onto the street by the time he can drive.

I'll supply the XJ and tools, he can supply the labor and parts, and he'll get hand me down parts off my XJ. And once it's done he pays for insurance and gas. I can't wait till this fall.

I replaced the tub/surround in my mom's house two years ago. Lowe's delivery punks dropped the first tub, the second tub didn't fit the opening, the walls weren't square, the floor wasn't level (probably why the original tub split)... it was a nightmare. I feel your pain.

thats the best way to give a kid a car IMO... if they earn it they always seem to take better care of it.... i grew up with some silver spoon kids and watched a lot of nice rides get trashed along te way

Damn Saints...

How the hell was that pass interference?

:banghead:

Oh well, Old Graybeard is still the man...

Brad was quite pleased to be working on my Jeep with me Saturday in a heated shop with a lift and air tools. I got my Aussie taken care of (thanks, Brad) and my u-joints installed. I would say my front end has twice the traction it did before, which would make sense. That thing does some work!
