Important

Finding TDC isn't that difficult though. Yank the plugs, get a big breaker bar with a 3/4" socket for the bolt and have a buddy crank the motor over with the breaker bar. While he's doing that stick your finger into cyl #1 and fell when it's pushing air out of the hole. Once you feel it pushing the air up look on the harmonic balancer and line it up with the zero mark and your good.

I actually ended up getting one from Champion cause I couldn't find one that was low miles (round 100k like mine...) Follow what Jeff says and it's a cake walk... One thing that was different tho was that my original just had a lip that a metal plate sat on and the metal plate had a bolt that went into block to hold it down.. The new one had a tab on the side with a notch in it for the bolt... It still had the lip too, so of course I put the plate back on... Can never be too safe... :)

P.S. - BTW Parakeet, were you the one interested in my extra t-case? PM if you were... I know someone other than Aaron was....

Yeah searching for a new one I think I figured out that Napa, Rock Auto, and Autozone all carry the same reman dizzy. Prices varying from $50-$72. Where I could buy a new one from Rock for $74. Waiting to order anything till I talk to the dealer tomorrow. Where'd you get yours at?

I got mine at Champion Auto parts for $70... I would gone with the cheaper, but I needed to get it done over a weekend (College is 2hrs from home) and Champion could get it to me overnight....

Okay, well thanks that solves problems. They wanted 400 for a OEM replacement radiator, I paid 180 for one of those CSF 3-row all metal ones. But they had the proper radiator hose with the coil in it for less than any parts house. I always check just in case.

Champion branded one, or what?

If it wasn't champion-brand, it was either SNAP or A1 Cardone.... After core-refund is was like $75ish after tax... something like that... all the paperwork on my jeep is at home so it doesn't get jumbled up with my schoolwork....

I hear that! It seems as though I take more Jeep crap around with me (paperwork/docs, parts, offroad supplies) than school stuff.

Cardone is a quality reman company. Most of the parts we install from Advance & O'Reilly's are Cardone remans.

On a side note, I joined the tow rig club today. Deposit placed, hope to pick it up this weekend. It should be more than adequate for towing the Jeep or whatever else I hook up to it.

Nice, so is that a 14 bolt SF or what? I know it seems like they put diff axles in the 2500 vs. 3500. I didn't remember it in time but someone on here had a Suburban with the 6.5 I believe for sale. (If not the 6.2)

Man who would of thought that it would be this hard to find a friggen part time job. I applied at Harbor Frieght tonight so we'll see what happens.

14b FF. 4.10 gears and a Gov-Lock.

Mark (LawnCher') had a 6.5 Sub for sale. I was trying to get it, but he decided to keep it.

Very nice Byron, congrats.

Thanks. Best part is I got it for pretty close to what I got out of my FSJ.

Nice truck Byron.

Im needing to get a fullsize pickup that Rangers about worhtless now.
Ive also been told by my parents that I cant have anymore vehicles on thier insurance so I have to wait.

There must be a special crowd that likes the 6.5 combo :) and high demand :wow:

in all seriousness if that's your style then more power to ya and congrats on the find...you didn't say miles, but the price range you are talking double that for a same year ford or dodge...

and having a tow rig is sooo nice...especially when you wheel two weekends in a row and can just leave it packed from one weekend to the next...and allow you to wheel without worry of how you'll get home...

mac 'now for some power adders' gyvr

Thats a pretty clean looking ole rig there Byron. I'll have a tow rig for my toys one of these days. Now if Dad would give me the Dodge I would put it to good use! :D

A week and a half just to get the Offer on my Jeep, Really?! Then of course I am not accepting the first offer but They have my rental covered til next week! Ahhhhh, I need another rig dammit! I have all these parts sitting around waiting for a rig to go on. Ok, rant off. :D

Nice find Byron, welcome to the old-body-style Chevy club :)

Mark's 'burb is awesome, but you'll be able to go gooseneck if you want (whereas he will need a sawzall).

At least you have a stick shift in that thing. You won't destroy that NV4500 either.
