Just one of those days on the west coast.....:flame:

Nick

Go Bengals! WHO-DEY!!!

didn't think about the 4 speed that would suck alittle.

Don't get me wrong, the granny low is great for starting with the trailer, but hitting 4th in town at 40 makes you realize the highway is gonna suck. The 360 spins at ~2800 RPM at 60 through dual flowmasters. And the radio doesn't work :D

We have thought about swapping in a NV4500, but the expense and work wouldn't be justifiable as little as that truck gets used.

Here's a pic of the rig for those not at Redbird:

this is what I have been borrowing. it has the v10 and gets around 15mpg towing. I love it and need to get my own (not my jeep on the back. towing the broken home)

Well,

The woods are quiet now that I am back at the no-tell-motel. Not much movement. LOTS of buck signs, bobcat paw prints, Wolf prints and bear poop. Friend bagged a small dumb doe.

don't under stand why I didn't see anything, being the alert nimrod that I am...

Heading back to the southern end of the state tomorrow. Then it's 3 days in the river bottoms of Spring Green after turkey day!!

Caution to you if you're in that end of the state that weekend. :skull1:

I towed with my K2500 with a 5.7, it was not pretty up the pass at 35 and 9 mpg wasn't great either.

Towed with my dad's new ford with the 5.4. Made it up the pass at 60, 11 mpg.

The U-haul we rented to move here had a large GM gasoline engine and an allison tranny, it didn't even notice the jeep behind it. Also got 10 mpg.

I still prefer the 7.3 PS for 12 mpg and power to spare.

That is one big ole pile of Dodge sexy.....

My Ferd does about the same in 4th at 60 also.. No dual flowmasters.. just a cracked exhaust manifold.

15mpg with that V10? Sounds like your odometer is spinning too fast or your calculator is broke.

My Tahoe with the 5.7 gets 10-11 towing (on mostly flat ground). Definitely doesn't have the power in the hills though. Pretty much sold on a 7.3 PSD for the next truck though.

Hey Nick, What happened to the Bengals last night? :D

Nice Travis, So I take it everyone in town knows you are a Jeep Fan.

Is that hand figured or going off the display at the top? I would believe you if it was a 12v 5.9 diesel...

At 70 mph with 6 to 6.5k of trailer I get 13mpg with my 2006 5.9 cummins megacab...and 13mpg is the best I have ever seen hand figured with any single place car trailer behind my truck...the diesel pay off is the 9 or 10 mpg with two jeep behind you, thats like 18 or 20mpg if your splitting fuel...

mac 'oh and unbelievable power' gyvr

that is what all the girls say..right? :D

heh...

actually I drove the diesel for the first date and maybe the second date with Grace. then it was on to driving one of the XJs or her car...now everytime we go somewhere she wants to take the diesel and asks why we don't take it...I tell her its only for out of town travel I only drove it on the first date to impress her...

mac 'least i'm not over compensating with a corvette :) 'gyvr

I averaged 10.5 on the Moab trip with Mac's trailer.

Guy I work with has v10 excursion and gets 8 mpg towing his boat. His excursion doesn't get 15 mpg empty.

My wife drives the truck more than I do. I guess she's over the "it's too big" I heard constantly when we first bought it.

Insert snide comment here . . .
