Whew, what an exhausting past couple of months!!!! As you all know we lost our franchise with Chrysler/Jeep and Dodge!!! So the past couple of months I have been busy working with the owners on how to stay open and progress with a decaying automotive market and man is it alot of work!!!! Lots of brainstorming and idea bouncing, phone calls, meetings with tons of big wigs from lots of companies, stratigies..........etc!!! And I am pleased to announce the start of a whole NEW chapter for all of us!!! We are now remaining open as "Richard Auto Center"!!!! We will work on ALL cars and trucks and we are also a NAPA Auto Care Center which means we will be phasing out most of our Chrysler maintance items and replacing them with NAPA parts!! We are also a NAPA Auto Care Collision Center, so if you crash your car, you can bring it here and we will make it look like new!!!! Anything you want us to do, let us know, WE CAN DO IT!!!!! Lift kits, ring gears, t-case rebuilds, winch mounting, lights.........WHATEVER you want us to do is NO problem with us, all of our techs are ASE Certified too!!! I am also still a Rough Country distributor so if you need shocks or whole lift kits, let me know!!!! We also still honor your extended warranties as well!!!!

SOOOOO...........without further adou, we are having a grand opening and we would like to invite you to our open house/ car show!!!! Napa will be providing the food, we will have my uncle DJ'ing, AND we will be having a petting zoo!!!
ALL Jeeps are welcome!!! This time we will have the whole front of the lot!!!! I am also inviting guys from the SteelSolders.com forums and try to get them to bring out some of their military vehicles as well as a couple of other clubs!!!! THERE will be PLENTY of room so dont worry!!!

That's great to here some good come from that!

I don't understand why the big corporations were forcing their dealers to shut down. Its not like competing dealers were causing cars to be not sold. Idk, if I missing something I'd like to be corrected.

Personally, I have no love for NAPA parts. That's probably due to the thieves who ran the NAPA shop where I grew up.

So, Richard lost their new vehicle franchise. I got flyers from them occasionally when I lived in Bloomingdale. Something about them irritated me, and I can't for the life of me remember what it was.

long story in readers digest form...

The claim is that support for these dealers in terms of paperwork, warranty stuff, rebate and advertising provisions, etc, etc. costs the manufacturers billions a year.

GM claimed in their bankruptcy that jettisoning these dealers was going to save them $2 billion.

The problem is that if they maintain the current level of sales, most of these costs are going to continue.. just concentrated on a smaller pool of dealers.

The one good thing to come out of this.. the biggest crook dealer in our area lost their GM franchise. I don't know if they lost the Chryco dealership..but one can hope.
