I only live two miles from the "Cheddar Curtain" we cross it every weekend.
We boat on the Yahara Lakes, we ride the bike up to Burlington, we eat cheese sandwiches in Monroe. We even make major purchases in Beloit or Janesville to save on sales tax.
I spend half my paycheck up there, if it weren't for us FIBS coming up there, your state would be broke.
By the way, I found out this weekend that FIB now stands for "Fine In Bed"
That is all I can say about that....
 
I'm so glad I do most of the work on my XJ. Had to have the downpipe redone when I didthe stroker so I took the heep to an exhaust shop that was highly recommended. I tow it up to the shop and tell them to do the exhaust, weld in a bung for the o2 sensor and screw it in, and set the timing for me. (I wanted to leave the shop with the jeep and do the break-in on the way home.) So I call them and they tell me as far as they can tell the jeep is in time and it's still not right, and they didn't want to work on it since it was a "high performance" motor.

I went up to pay for it and the Jeep ran worse than it did when I dropped it off. So I told them I would be up that weekend to get it. This was Wednesday. I told him that was when I could get a trailor up there. He looked at me and without saying anything else handed me a card for a local tow service. Now I'm a little upset with the guy and say screw it and spend 100 bucks to have it towed back to my buddys shop.

Get it back to the shop and crawl under it to inspect the work and the SOB's didn't even touch the o2 sensor. Of course they were closed by this point. So I move on the the rough running problem. Now I find that they had switched injector wires, left the number 1 cylinder wire unhooked, and now I'm livid. They told me they didn't want to work on it and yet they had screwed with it.

So I get my XJ fully in time and call them. The guy I talked to (the owner) and told him my grievances. So he told me to come up whenever and they would put the bung on while I wait. I get there the next day and the owner tells me that I will have to drop it off. Long story short I told him I wheel it and to have the tech put the bung way out of harms way. I looked at it and wasn't really happy with the location but it was there so not a lot I could do about it at that point.

I actually got the jeep out and wheeled this weekend only to get home and find out I had hit the o2 sensor with the front driveshaft yoke and broke it clean off at the bung.

Now I get to go to another exhaust shop and have it redone since I will never step foot into the first shop again. Sorry for the long post but I had to get that off my chest. I can't tell my wife since I've spent my next 2 years budget on the motor.

Sean, there's no arguing that the state would have issues without tourism, thats for sure.

Bob, if your saying its small I could probably fit both my 4"x30' straps (one's single ply, one's double) in there with my tools. The whole idea was to be more accessable than having them under the back seat which I can put spare shafts under now.

You guys think there could be any market for those? It would require cutting the plastic and be simplified somewhat (no compound angles around the wheelhouse).

Realistically, Brian, it'd be a small market, I suspect. You'd have to be able to make it *REALLY* cheap to make a dime on it.

No, I wasn't saying it is small, I am saying make the tow strap convenient so I can tow you out of the mud quickly.

Thats alright, I have yet to wheel with you so we'll see how that goes. :D

I know people get into trouble when posting things for sale, would the correct place be in the "product development", "vendor's ads", or just throw it in mod tech and gauge response? Jeff I can give you dibs on the first production one :D

We signed up at the same time, assume you stopped posting for good. I'd have to average ~11 posts per day to catch up. Not saying 11 is a lot, but to do that every day for a year, thats just not my thing. :D
