Important

I hear ya John, I was thinking the same thing! What is bad is that I have worked on this project rebuilding the front end, locker, u-joints and seals over the past few weeks and took my time, and then this happens. BUT, if I cram like I do before WF each year everything works flawlessly......but there is always many beverages consumed before WF, and that my friend is the difference! :D

didja put a lil grease on em and a lil tinsy bit of silicone around the outside lip?
what seals?

I used some Lucas lube that I had on them, but no silicone. They are a National Seal, but off the top of my head I dont remember the part #. They were replacement seals that go into a disco axle when you go to using one piece axles. I am afraid that I may have taken the inner axle down a touch too much on the passenger side and the lube may be leaking around that seal. I am going to put in another "back up" seal in where the old disco unit was installed to see if that will help with the sepage.

i just put a lil bit around the outside diameter of the seal. they say they are supose to seal when you put em in but ive always end up haveing em leak so i started doing that with em.

Are you sure it's just not lube that's left over in the tubes? Just a thought......

I wish it was, it was clean like the new stuff I just put in. I had also cleaned out the tubes and swabbed them out when I had everything apart...

I usually put some grease on the inner mating surface of the seal to help the shaft slide through without catching and rolling.

Still sucks when your work ends up having to be redone.

subscribed to two years of jp magazine two months ago. i got one issue so far and it was an old one i already had. havent got this months yet. gunna have to call em up and see what the deal is.

I hear ya, I eneded up acting like a baby and pulled the Heep out of the shop and parked it in the barn....kind of like putting it in time out for not playing nice :D

I ended up pulling the Baja into the shop for un-winterizing it and going through everything on it to make sure it is ready for Memorial Day weekend. I put two Interstate batteries in it last year and never charged them, and they still fired it right up with the first turn of the key, so at least that went good.

I know that sometime in the early part of each year that they have an issue that is a 2 month issue for some reason. maybe your caught up in that time lapse.

I got the May edition like 2 weeks ago, it is the one w/ "Garage Upgrades".....you may need to get ahold of them.

A lot of magazines do that: 10 issues a year versus 12. I assume its to give them a month off for winter holidays, and summer vacations.

I had another DWI in the 94 yesterday, once again I had everything unloaded so I could haul a bunch of firewood from one friend's house to anothers.

Guess I need to get Cindy to turn the wheel and shift the trans back and forth so I can hopefully see what's loose.

Somehow I managed to sleep for 12 hours last night, and I'm paying for it now. Took forever to fall asleep, and woke up nice and early. So I visit Naxja :dunno:

So, good morning!

Inch and a half of the wet sloppy stuff here last night. Yes I mean snow. :D

I'm starting a $35k basement remodel today party1:
