I thought "Coonass'" were technically Cajun, or people from a mix of the French and local Indian cultures ... but hell, what do I know.

Talk about not knowing how to season food ... local dishes here in Indiana are seasoned using mostly salt and grease ... although "Shit on a Shingle" is pretty darn good.

I was at he Barber today. While there I was reading an ESPN magazine. They were qouting Nick Saban calling LSU fans a bunch of coonasses. He states he was not saying it in a derogatory manner. Until the media researched and found out coonasses may come from coonasse' which is french (I guess) for cheap whore. So, Saban decided to apologize for any missunderstanding.

The drum is frozen to the hub, the drum slips over the studs, just like an XJ's drum. It's not like earlier floaters that had bearing right in the drum (editted.)

That might be an alternative, take the hub off with the drum in place, set it upside down on the ground, and smack the back side of the drum. I'd rather not do that if I don't have to, though.
Finally managed to get time this afternoon to get back to the brake job. Gotta love floater axles. Pulled the axle shaft out, and removed the hub with the stuck drum. Dropped it about 6" on concrete, and the drum came right off.

heading to Wentzville, Mo this Saturday to pick up my new eBay purchase, 97 XJ County. No real plans for it other then to part it out. Maybe I could talk Lawn Cher into helping me load it up on my trailer :D What an opportunity for a mini M&G!!!

LOL ... you gotta love media people who are not very bright. Even I understand there is a big difference calling people from Indiana "Hoosiers" and folks from Louisianna a "Coonass". My original post using the comparison was "tongue in cheek" ... much the same as most (but not all) of my posts.

Glad to hear you got that drum off Jeff. I've seen where people have let the shoes wear a groove in the drum so, unless you can back off the shoes, it catches and can make it a problem pulling the hub. Was that the problem or was it just seized in the center?

Les

I don't know anyone that takes offense to being called a coonass. Most people I know are proud of their heritage, so much so that implants from other places strive to be coonass too.

Oh and what are these drums of which you speak?

"Thank you to push the diag button on the back of you print server."
How hard wold it be to have a freaking American answer a tech support number?
My printer is not on the compactable list?

Go kiss a Holstein, Raji!

Got a lift height ticket. Cop didnt write the correct gvwr down so the legal limit is less. Now i have to go to explain why he is dumb to his boss.

Sorry Brian, been pretty busy still. Give me a call in a day or two and we will get that shit taken care of. Yeah, 2" of snow and I realized I need new tires. Maybe I should of saved the back two.:D
I don't know what it is, but every year on the first snowfall I get to watch a handfull of people go flying past me on the highway and a few miles up I see them in the ditch. Four wheel drive doesn't help when you can't stop or slow down.

I know I see those same people too. I just like using my full time so I can actually accelerate. Dont worry man, I understand, I was just tempted to figure it out myself. Help is appreciated though. In a couple weeks I'll have a set of 225/75-15's if your looking for some rollers with tread.

I got the ticket for bumper height which he told me was the same as lift height. The sticker on my door says gwvr of 4800 pounds which is the second to lowest class. But the legal limit he told me was 20 in. all the way around, which isnt correct. My jeep isnt even that big it just sticks out more because of the cage and the paint.

For car plates it's 26" in the front & 28" in the back. Don't know what it is with truck plates, but I'm pretty sure it's a little higher. I've been pulled over at least 3 times, but no tickets. The cops have never had a tape to measure. JIM.

Its been a while, but I thought I read that it was 26 or 27, and it was different front to rear.

But I don't know, the rules are hard to understand sometimes.

Edit: Dang you leave in the middle of posting to dye your wifes hair and bang, someone swoops in and posts more relevant information! I see it all the time.

Thanks Jim :smootch:
