Important

I've actually met Levi Jones. A friend of mine used to run sprint cars with him a while back. We'd go race at Haubstat every Friday night. I kinda miss those days, sure did have alot of fun.

why did he get out of sprint cars? have you seen levi run since he has been with tony stewart racing? levi is dominate running the usac sprint car circuit. hes has quite some talent.

more fawkin rain!! We have a total loss on 90% of our crops now due to the last 48 hours of flooding. This is really going to cramp my style in the Jeep parts buying department :D

yeah, we have crop insurance. We had over 9" of rain in the past 24 hours. I am fortunate that we do not owe anything on our ground (old family ground) or we would be screwed. Insurance is usually balanced just enough for the bank to get thier share and then the farmer has to squeak by until next year. My wife and I both work off the farm as well, so we will be fine, but it sure is frustrating! I feel for the guys that dont have insurance or high ground payments.

yeah, we run apporx 800 head and increase numbers over the winter with stockers to close to the 1000 range. We also have 2 hog confinemet barns with 2400 head in each barn. That is the real bread and butter of the operation, except for all of the paper work that is required for waste application and all the other government forms........

The aggravating thing though is the high price of feeding them bastards. Hope all ends up well.

I like your quote ... need to add .. "or a sneeze in the middle of a big fart!"

the hogs are fed through the company that we have the contrats with, so their nutritionist sets up the different rations and that is not costing us anything as far as the hog feed goes. Our catle are all ran through a management intensive grazing system and they are able to stay grass based for about 8-10 months of the year, and if it is a mild winter we can graze all year with little, if any, additional feed. The stockers that we carry over the winter are grain fed in addition to the grass/hay rations...and that grain can some times about break a guy if he does not pencil out his rations.

on a side note, I am willing to "donate" some meat (ok, get your minds out of the gutter :D ) for WF this year, I will just need a bit of a notice so I can see what will be available.

shaved the 14 bolt, started with 10-7/8 under the diff now it its at 12-5/8, looks like it will make a pretty big difference.

New junk in the driveway:

What began as a $100 trailer has so far turned into a $250 trailer with new lights, hitch and repacked bearings. Still not bad for what it is.

Good gain, got some pics? You shaved the ring gear didnt you?

the sickness has spread from Mac "has too many XJ's" Gyver to the northern most part of Missouri...I just bought a 97 Country off eBay that needs a head gasket....$520, so now I am off friday to Bentonville Arkansas to pick it up.....the fuel for the trip should make it a $850 XJ once home :D

Driveway count on XJ's is back to 3...and the couch sleeps quite well ;)

Went to Subway to grab lunch today. Walking back to the Jeep I notice this:

This is the 2nd one that's broke. I have no idea how long it's been broke this time. I drove it home, just like you see it.

That's broken outside the mount. Stretched bolt from overtightening?

:dunno:

I just snug it up. I didn't put a torque wrench on it last time but, I'm not one to tighten the piss out of things though. I don't have any idea what the torque value should be.

I'd lean the other direction.
Too loose allowing it to flex.
Check torque rating and give it hell.
