Those are FUN!!!!!!!

The first time you go 'on the wire' its pretty freaky...

I'm a warehouse supervisor. I teach forklift safety, WMS, and RF scanner operations....

Basically, I'm a babysitter and a referee.

For the few of us that have operated these machines, you know how much of a blast it is to drive one. Now imagine maintaining one! Yesterday I had the opportunity to PM one of these beasts. With the mast fully extended, my duties include inspecting the main lift structure, climbing the full length of the machine, checking welds, chains, hoses and such. Then I get to open all of the access doors and probe around electrical components. 72Volts at 1000mA systems, guidance circuits, control circuits. These machines are a marvel of technology. It is quite sobering to realize that you are climbing 30+ feet above the floor on a steel tube full of hoses and chains, then you get to stick your hands in places that could potentially fry or cut one off. All in the name of progress.
Hazardous work, pays the bills.

I would just like to thank whoever sent the care package for me. I woke up this morning to see that it had snowed last night.

I could prevent every loss we have....
But then human resources might actually have to do something other than troll the local 'special' people school and county jail for employees.....

how'd it go?

Blame yer wife.......

Don't worry, she received a phone call in thanks for the snow. This is my first winter without snow or cold and I'm missing it TBH.

Yeah, while it may suck ass to live in the Chicago area, it sure is easier to make money here. Seems most places I'd rather live, would involve a serious pay cut.

Except for Hawaii, but the cost of living there would still make it a pay cut...

That's a strange airport IIRC. Dad and I flew into there in 04 on our way to Moab. Supposedly it has an underground military base below it, which is why they built it so far out. I don't know about all that, :bs: but it is interesting.

Edit: if you want to read about it: http://www.anomalies-unlimited.com/Denver_Airport.html

Having been there during construction of the REALLY STUPID auto baggage sorter, its really one of the coolest airports out there.... It was built so far out to accomodate future growth of the Denver area. Stapleton(the old airport) was landlocked with massive construction all around it and nowhere to expand to. I get to go thru there quite a few times a year. And the size of Terminal B(United) never ceases to amaze me..... I always seem to land on gate 59 or some ridiculously high number and I get to go to gate 19 or 20..... Always reminds me of an 'OJ' dash in Stapleton, years ago. All the way thru the A gates......

Will and Impala get you to some of those remote locations that you need to get to?
