That would be pushing it on a F150. I'm not even sure I want to use the Expedition that much to tow, unless I refi the house and buy an aluminum trailer.
I think I'm gonna stick to driving the XJ whenever I can.

That would be a Hale of a load on a 1/2 ton.....
Besides, you don't need a stinkin' tow rig........DRIVE IT! There's no challange if you tow it. The best part is seeing if you can get it home after wheeling! THAT...is where it's at baby.

Driving to flatnasty and tellico in a lifted 20 year old Jeep just isn't my idea of comfort. Besides, things happen, and then you end up wrenching instead of wheeling, just so you can drive home.
No rope, but I'm sure I can find something to send there.seanR said:Send them to me, as President of this Circus, I deserve them....

Was not exactly a bolt on thing, but very close to it.
The backing plate bolt pattern and the housing bolt pattern were different.....they are now the same.
Hardest part of the whole thing was getting the c-clip out of the Aussie. THAT....was major PIA.
Brake hose, and hardline didn't want to mate, but in the end....it's all together.
I can tell a big difference already.
Byron's luck was not with him today. Bolt trouble was the hold up for him. When I left, they had just started to weld on the drivers side stiffy.
Sat. and Sun plan was to install the stiffys, and the TNT LA's.

TellicoReadyXJ said:Yep, @#$%& factory crossmember stud/bolts. Both on the driver's side broke immediately. Ended up getting the bolt drilled out and tapped to the next larger size and drilling and tapping the stud for a smaller bolt.
Got the driver's side stiffy tacked, but Jim wasn't sure about welding to the frame rail without burning through, so he's gonna have another guy weld em up all the way with a mig.
Today was spent tacking the p/s stiffy and wrestling the skid into place and attempting to put the LCAs in. We got the driver's side in and the factory mount cut off. By the time that was one, I was being summoned via cell phone to come home.
Round II of the TNT install will come in a couple weeks when I get some more time off. Definitely glad I towed the XJ out instead of driving itBTW - Randy, I can see why you upgraded to the F350
