Important

That would be pushing it on a F150. I'm not even sure I want to use the Expedition that much to tow, unless I refi the house and buy an aluminum trailer. :D I think I'm gonna stick to driving the XJ whenever I can.

Shoulda bought a 3/4ton...
That would be a Hale of a load on a 1/2 ton.....

Besides, you don't need a stinkin' tow rig........DRIVE IT! There's no challange if you tow it. The best part is seeing if you can get it home after wheeling! THAT...is where it's at baby.

Shoulda, but when I bought it two years ago, I got it at a really good price.

My luck would be, I have a super critical problem(think tranny falling out kinda thing) as I pull into the parking lot of the campground on the trip there.

This truck and its 15 MPG isn't going to be a DD. Wifey gets a baby-bus and I get the ZJ.

hells yeah, but there's a reason I'm looking for a tow rig myself.

Driving to flatnasty and tellico in a lifted 20 year old Jeep just isn't my idea of comfort. Besides, things happen, and then you end up wrenching instead of wheeling, just so you can drive home.

No rope, but I'm sure I can find something to send there.

Discs are on.
Was not exactly a bolt on thing, but very close to it.
The backing plate bolt pattern and the housing bolt pattern were different.....they are now the same.:D
Hardest part of the whole thing was getting the c-clip out of the Aussie. THAT....was major PIA.
Brake hose, and hardline didn't want to mate, but in the end....it's all together.
I can tell a big difference already.

Byron's luck was not with him today. Bolt trouble was the hold up for him. When I left, they had just started to weld on the drivers side stiffy.
Sat. and Sun plan was to install the stiffys, and the TNT LA's.

The best thing I ever did to my jeep was to buy a tow rig. Now I just leave my jeep at home and hitch a ride at events!:D

Had to type that three times to get it right, accidently got drunk. The wife brought me some apple cider, cinnio... forget it that word it too long, and some Jack Daniels so I've been drinking apple jacks all night. Its going to be an interesting morning, if the JD doesn't get me the apple cider will.

Got the rear axle back under the jeep tonight, its purty, and put in a new water heater, burnt the crap out of my hands. Going to bed. 'night.

Cool, now you can help me with my disc brake swap. Only, mine involves removing and pressing on new wheel bearings which is not all that fun.

I've got to powdercoat the brackets and calipers first. Ordered a plethera of pinkish purple powder, say that three times fast, to match my anodized pinion support.

I've done a bit of playing with winches lately and for the money I'd have to say that Superwinch EP series is more better.

id have to say if its a winch, and doesnt have a warn logo on it, it wont be on the front of my rig... :D that makes a M8000 better than a superwinch :D

Yep, @#$%& factory crossmember stud/bolts. Both on the driver's side broke immediately. Ended up getting the bolt drilled out and tapped to the next larger size and drilling and tapping the stud for a smaller bolt.

Got the driver's side stiffy tacked, but Jim wasn't sure about welding to the frame rail without burning through, so he's gonna have another guy weld em up all the way with a mig.

Today was spent tacking the p/s stiffy and wrestling the skid into place and attempting to put the LCAs in. We got the driver's side in and the factory mount cut off. By the time that was one, I was being summoned via cell phone to come home.

Round II of the TNT install will come in a couple weeks when I get some more time off. Definitely glad I towed the XJ out instead of driving it :D BTW - Randy, I can see why you upgraded to the F350 :D :D
