GLUB GLUB BUBBLE BUBBLE GULP,
Any one have a hover craft I could borrow for a few weeks?
We went on 'flood patrol' last night, something my Lar had never been on.
Growing up in the are between Monroe, Beloit, Rockford, Freeport, you know the trapizoid.
I have always looked at the flooded rivers, I did it with my Grand father when I was a child.
Last night, I saw water in places I had never seen it before, the last big flood was in 1996, this will be worse for the Rock river.
Two of it tribuaries, the Sugar river and the Pecatonica River both start in Sowth West WI. and converge with the Rock at Rockton, IL.
Water is four feet over some of the roads in S. WI, and still rising.
The Kishwaukee River which flows throught DeKalb, Belvidere and converges with the Rock south of Rockford is so flooded that NIU was evacuated last night.
Complete houses are under water.
At work we have been busy cleaning logs, washers, bikes, lawn mowers, picnic tables, even back yard sheds out from underneath box culverts.
Today I had to rent a big excavator to clean out one crossing under Hwy. 251 here in Machesney Park.
I have never seen it this bad!
My paving crews have not worked a full day in three weeks!
It is all coming your way Howie, I hope your desk is on the second floor!
