Important

Just had 40-50 of the "closest" friends and relatives over to celebrate my sons first birthday, I got drunk and sat around the campfire most of the night. His real birthday was yesterday and I stayed sober the whole day for him, I love that little guy.

Next weekend will be a different story

You're gonna have to call me with highlights on that one... I screwed up and let her plan our trip to Houston over the two most important games of the year. (I'll be gone the 6th to the 16th)

Bought my first pistol today, a brand new Springfield XD9 I know i am gonna get the "you shoulda got a bigger caliber" thing but I chose 9mm because it is cheap to shoot and 99% of the time its gonna be used for target practice. I'll carry it when I go camping and when I go to Indy or travel around Indiana.

You shoulda got a bigger caliber. The XDs are nice, and I would have bought a XD40 if I hadn't found such a good deal on my Glock 22.

On a semi-related note, I carried my .40 on my hip all weekend in Brown County SP and in Nashville. It was mostly concealed under a sweatshirt, but you could still see the holster and M3 light poking out. Nobody really seemed to care.

Flexd, Welcome to the clan. If your target shooting 9 is fine and with proper ammo personal protection as well.

My first handgun was the Tactical in .45 (13+1 :D). And I carry it camping where discreteness is not an issue. My next "shooter" is going to be a sub-comp in .40. Easier to conceal because Doyle's days are numbered. XDtalk.com is a good forum on them.

I shoot a potato gun..and I carry the extra potatoes in my pants....that is the correct place for them, right? :dunno:

I was on a swim team when I was little, and had a crush on one of the girls on my team. My dad told me to try putting a potato in my speedo to get her attention, so I did, and noone would come near me. Apparently I should have put the potato in the front of my speedo.

The bigger caliber was out of my price range unless I wanted a 3 inch barrel As I said before its just mainly a target gun. I will get some Home protection rounds for it. With 16+1 capacity i think i'll be fine if it comes down to that! :D Oh, and in Brown County you get looks for NOT packing! :D

My buddy has the .45 and I have another buddy with the .40 both are awesome guns. I am not worried about concealing it at all. It will only be carried when camping or going to places i feel its needed. I am already signed up on XDtalk too! :D
