From Stan at Branik Motorsports:

Hey this weekend on Xtreme 4x4 on Spike channel, we are
going to have some 7075 links featured on the show. They
are engraved, polished and hexed on the ends. We are just a little stoked to have these featured and Ian Johnson (host of the show) has really talked them up and promises to show them to the world!
Hopefully this will be a start to making some big things happen in our business. We have to thank Adam Woodlee,
of Wide Open Designs, in suggesting us to Ian, and really have to thank all of our friends and customers (which are really our friends also).
Hope you all watch and pass along the word!!
Grateful,
Stan

Sounds interesting.

Where would a person who doesn't do TV find out more about these?

Corning is where the site is...the mass of tower up on the hill.

today I found out the road I have been taking is not the site road....the actual site road is the next one down.

Whoops.

If the site road is boring, sounds like you've been taking the right one :D

Rant on:

Been to the welding shop 6 times since Saturday and the dousche keeps telling me to come back later or at closing and he will tie up some structural welds for me (I am not that good yet!) We are talking about 45 minutes of work max and I was going to give him a set of nice JCR stage 2 sliders for that work. Shop rate is $45/hour so that is a rippin good deal for him since I wanted $150 for the sliders and he was wanting them bad......piss on him, I am going to the competition tomorrow and paying cash.

OK, rant is off :D

I know the feeling Tyler. Some douche posted up on craigslist for Jeep parts about a month ago from Marquette, MI. I've scheduled 4 times to meet him with cash in hand and he backs out by me calling him and him telling me" he has not had time to pull them yet" after agreeing to meet up at that date. I even told him I'd pull the parts if he wants. I'm going to see him tomorrow. He just don't know it yet.

Funny thing is he says he's on the forums quite often. Although I will not post his real name up on here.

Least he could do is tell me he does not want to sell them not say yah I'll meet you with parts in hand. Should've known better being he lives on the old military base up there. Have not met an honest soul from there since the base closed.

I just scored what I think is a good deal tonight. I picked up a steering gear to replace my sloppy clunky one, a new washer bottle with "working" pumps still attached, both mirrors in the black manual variety, 3 spare head lights, and a pair of spare tail lights with sockets all for the grand total of 50 bucks. I think I did good tonight. Gotta love guys that have gotten out of jeeping and needing money to fund the Mustang fund.

I get that too. PSC's rebuilt boxes are looking really good right now. Replaced just about everything else that was squirrelly, but I haven't done the box yet. $200-400 is a lot of spare change right now. It keeps me alert and focused while driving though.

Is it slop in the shaft or the pitman arm. I forgot to post this last time but the gear box still has the steering shaft on it and a alleged drop pitman arm. I need to measure to confirm but if it's slop in the pitman arm I'll work something out with you on it.

Mine has a clunk when I turn it back and forth quickly and out on the trail. Now I need to find a steering brace used and I'll be set, and have an extra one to rebuild and tap for hydro assist later on.

thanks for the link byron...

they are nice, light and strong, cut to length and drilled and tapped for your heims or johnny joints (etc).

all three Branik buggies are running them...they are holding up very well to XRRA, much better than the 4140 chromo that I'm running...

Its not the pitman arm. I have a clunk when i turn left and right real quick.
The shaft that comes out of the gearbox moves left and right when i turn. It shifts in the gear box.
I just havent made it to upull to get a "new" one.
Thanks tho. :D

I'm sure you have it tracked down, but I had a similar issue going on for a while. Bad clunking and creaking whenever I turned the wheel. Checked the pitman and it seemed fine, checked all the steering box bolts, and checked every TRE and both track bar bushings. All fine. Finally last night I checked the bolts on the track bar bracket that attaches to the unibody... two of the bolts were a little loose, the other two I could spin by hand... yikes. All is well now.
