Important

I guess I better check my bellhousing. My rear d-shaft was making a ton of noise from the CV before I removed it. Dang.

I'm glad Jim is getting hooked up. Crappy feeling sitting here knowing there's nothing I can do from home.

Werd.

He went across the road and got a room. Mac-n-Pat will crash with him when they get there.

I just called him. He was asleep.:jester:

Live from Goodland, KS with Jim looking over my shoulder at the motel...

WhatRD is a ways away, but we will wait till he gets here and get things together to make the final 8 hour run to MOAB!!!!

thats what i figured. not much room to stuff you , the wife, and a crap load of gear in your rig! you get to enjoy some more topless driving out there before you come back to the midwest. that is unless you drive with your shirt off all the time:D

Live from Des Moines.

Me and Nate got both jeeps on the trailer behind the truck.

11 mpg at 70 mph. Headed to Denver in the morning. I-80 wasn't so bad, diesel prices in Illinois suck.

FYI...
Winter storm warning tonight west of Denver..Vail area. 6-12 inches of snow possible.

We hit some snow and saw a handful of slide-offs and one Tahoe on its lid.

Quit your whining.
I just got back from Moab a week ago.
Chevy 3500 with the gas 8.1

Headingout003.jpg

Was getting 4-5 mpg IN IOWA. You know, that big flat state.
Spent about $2500 on gas.
Next year I'll go the CHEAPER way and hire choppers to airlift the rigs and a private Lear for myself.

10.1 mpg doesn't look so bad now, does it, Brad? You were also taking a big hit from that roll cage sticking up over the cab, right into the high velocity air.

RPMs on a diesel make a *HUGE* difference. I lose 2 to 2.5 mpg if I bump the RPMs from around 1,750 to 2,100 (60 mph to 72 mph.) On Saturday, on a 600 mile unloaded run, I got 21 mpg with my 99 CTD.

Worse than that. The trailer wheels are so far back I ended up having to back the Disco on to balance it.
Had that nice billboard size rear window facing forward.

I used to have to back the XJ on my old trailer to get it to balance. After 2 rear windows getting shattered by rock or other unknown flying items, I used that as my justification to the wife for a new trailer :D

I am now shopping for a 30 ft gooseneck, but being able to justify that to her might be a bit more trivial!

9.5 mpg on the last leg, Des Moines to York, NE.

That 75 mph speed limit is very tempting, but you pay for it in the pocketbook. We dropped it back down 67 where the 11mpg is.

Live from the truck. Broadband air cards are cool :D

live from slickrock campground!!!!

Ran Hell's revenge today...got mickys, hell's gate, and escalator...
