Important

When you get done building a chassis like an RV, you'll have just as much money in it as you would buying an RV.

But you won't have basement storage, good heat and A/C or insulation, unless you spend a ton of money to retrofit a bus. You're probably also into bad tires that need replaced and gears designed to haul kids around at 45 mph.

A well taken care of pull behind RV can be had for not a lot of money and is move in ready. Not everything used is clapped out or broken.

To make an RV, you're going to spend what you'd spend on an RV, plus you're going to spend a thousand hours building it.

Wife is potentially looking at an almost $10k/ year raise and I just had my 6 month review and will hopefully be getting a 4-5% raise in July...maybe moving back to Iowa wasn't such a bad idea. First couple months were a little rocky starting over again but things are looking up!

Just wish my vacation time increases would come before 7 years. I do get unrestricted administrative leave which allows me to take a max of 2 days off here and there to compensate for extra time in the office. It's basically comp time where no one keeps score. I have gotten to take a day or two here and there for things without having to use vacation...I do really like this job though, government work isn't so bad ;)
