I do have trees to anchor to if I winch them though

the key is figuring out some way to use the winch to pull them straight up.

farmer told me to use a bare rim to roll a chain over so it pulls straight up.
never had a chance to try it.

I pulled a good sized stump out with an xj once but it was in the spring when the ground was soft...I had to give it a few good tanks to break the rest of the roots. Tried to do the same thing this last fall when the ground was dry and It didn't end well lol

This.. I came upon Seanr dragging his XJ across his front yard. He ended up chaining it to his Suburban to get it to work.

I used the rim method, a come-along and a Ford truck to pull my shrubs.
