Important

Calling off is one thing but couldn't imagine just doing a no call no show. Even when I quit that wind job I emailed him Sunday night and called him Monday morning. I'd expect to be fired on the 1st no call no sho
I am a pretty bad employee. I regularly show up 5-10 mins late everyday. At this point its almost just to mess with my boss, but ive never had a no show. Heck, when it snows I rush to work to pick up my coworkers and do donuts as i drive em to work. Ive gone home maybe 3 or 4 days since i started working here, a couple times for flu and the others an appointment or crap like that. Ive taken only 2 sick days in 3 years. But its a family company here, I've more or less been adopted in. Got there number in my wallet in case I wind up in jail. We had some guys heremy age that have come and gone. Show up great a few weeks, then go AWOL. Guess high school/college kids dont care much for a decent paying job.

I get five paid sick days per year. If I don't use them I lose them. So I use them. I tried to get them paid out but my boss made me take the time off right before my anniversary date.

I've never had "sick days" so maybe I don't know but what the heck is the difference between sick days and vacation days. Back at Ford if I needed to call of cuz I was sick I'd just yell them to put me down for a vacation day...

Its all pretty much PTO "paid time off" days here. I have five I can use without needing the time approved and my vacation days I have to submit for approval.

I wish I could kick caffeine, the last thing I kicked was a $3 hooker...in the armpit, she was into some weird shit.

I still think about mt dew, I was addicted to that shit. Real sugar dew was the best.....Man just talking about has me jonesin.

I will be getting paid for 100 hours of vacation and personal time next week (be a nice check). Guess that's a perk of leaving in the beginning of the year. I get 1 week at my new job after 90 days and 1 sick day a quarter. Get 2 weeks vaca after a year.

Current job is 10 vaca days and 5 "personal" days...same story. Vacation days need at least 48 hour notice. Personal days require a call no less than an hour before normal shift time...we can use personal days at the end of the year for time off instead of vacation days since our vacation rolls over and personal time does not. Spending 10 years as a freelancer still makes it feel weird to call out...I showed up to freelance gigs sick because I had to or risk not working the next time. I don't miss that part of it.

I just can't imagine any scenario where a no call/no show would be acceptable unless you were incapacitated or dead

Trying to decide whether or not to start on exhaust manifold gaskets on truck. Passenger side is leaking pretty good. Decisions decisions. There is only 1 broken nut out of 20. Wonder how many studs will snap.

Preheat those suckers cherry red with an oxy-acetylene torch before you touch them. Hell even a couple heat cycles with the torch.
