My original goal was to spend 2-5 years in Terre Haute and then move on to Indianapolis. I applied for five jobs in Indy in broadcasting. There was four of them at a sister station for my station (two jobs two different times). The other one was at another TV station. The one not at a tv station owned by the same company I flat out told them I couldn't make it on the wages they paid. The others I didn't get. Looking back, I am glad I didn't. Had I got one, I probably would have moved to Indy and never met Sarah. She is the best thing to ever happen to me.

some of the best things that have happened to me in my life came from something else not working out...
 
Winterfest 2016 may be out of the picture for me, but on a good note I'll be going to Vegas for my brothers wedding instead! I'll just have to see how it all times out. I'm thinking about flying out, and buying a clean rust free tow rig out there, and driving back. Looks like I better start putting pennys away.... He wants to be married by a Midget Elvis! lol

This being out of work thing is interesting. On one hand, I'm loving the time I'm spending with my kid and finally having the time to pull my weight around the house so the wife is happy when she gets home.
on the other hand, the longer I go without a job the more I start thinking I may made some mistakes recently.
I have had 1 interview already but not sure how I feel as the guy did said there would be some traveling that could involve being gone 3 or 4 days at a time. Not a huge deal and I know people are away from their family for longer than that but I would think it's only worth it if the money is good.
I have submitted my resume to about 8 maintenance positions in the area, so fingers crossed there. My schools fb page posted some renewable jobs this morning so after the kid goes to bed I'll be checking those out.

Interesting times for sure. I have literally had a job everyday since I was 13 and washing dishes at a local restaurant. Now, I just sit here and make my wife dinner.

I wasn't out of work, but being off on sick leave with my leg, I think my daughter finally learned who her dad is...

The next one will be lucky to see me for a bit after I get back to full duty and working part time trying to get caught up...

The walls of this hospital room are starting to get smaller. Not going home till tomorrow tho. Ready to sleep in my own bed.
 
We are having a family picnic at our place this evening.
First we cleaned out the attached garage and decided it was not big enough.
Then we cleaned out the 24x32 detached garage and decided it was going to be too hot in there.
So now we cleaned out the basement.
This is the cleanest this place has ever been!
