Important

A steel bar fell off of a truck on I-35 in Texas about 15 years ago. It smacked the underside of my Suburban and did a bunch of damage. I had to leave the truck down there and fly back home while it was being fixed. Insurance paid for the repairs though.

You could look for any pieces that are left but I think they're all stuck in the elantra. It was on 275 just after the 275/74 split. check the left lane.

If it is a Elantra, that car is totaled.

It's a 2011 with 70k. I knew it was totaled the moment he called. Clean resale value is 11k. Take in the fact that they treated it like a truck and it's worse much less.

That being said I have no problem with the newer kia/hyundais. The warranty is much better than any other brands and they only had to replace a starter, brakes, and tires until this point.

I'm in Harlan.

Good trip down minus the fact that the exhaust manifold sounds like it's going to come off the ex...gotta look and see if I can tell how ugly it's getting.

It is no fun. We usually just replace the manifolds when we do them. The time spend trying to repair the studs in the manifold is about the price of the manifold. We usually pull the inner fenders to do it.

I looked at it. Bolts on one side, studs on the other. Po said that they had been changed. I suspect maybe one side.

Hopefully I can get it home Sunday, nothing appears to be ready to fall off, and plan the full meal deal to fix it right. I have plenty of time right now, but even that job looks like a job for an exhaust shop.

Moving day. Getting all my stuff out today then I close next Friday. Hopefully I can get the closing on the new place pushed up some so im not homeless for too long.

I was to close on the 29th but underwriters suck so its pushed to Tuesday at the earliest.
But I'm going to Sewer City Saturday to see Aretha Franklin for free.

I think napa has the stud kits that bolt the manifolds to the head

With all this manifold talk, maybe I need to look at our ex. What exactly goes wrong with them? Is it something common on the ford v10's
