those may work because they'll pinch the tires to the floor.
I like the expanded metal idea.

it WILL move side to side in the back if you've not got crossed straps. I opened the door once to find comanche sidewall against the box. I think it's because the chassis flexes a bit more than a trailer on account of that's how the rear suspension works.

I see what you did there!

My XJ just got axle straps. So did the ZJ when it had a sway bar. It got body straps on the way home from harlan though after trailer sway about killed me.

I still use the axles for tie-downs, but I have started using the winch to pull the front end down and preload the suspension. Seems to help.

That's exactly what I did

Alternator gave out on the way to NYC this morning. I didn't put a new one on when I swapped motors since I had a spare...did not have the spare with me today. I was a mile from advance when it happened and had plenty of battery. Now I have to get lunch on the go.

Fact: you're betus doctor doesn't like when you bring an extra large coffee with cream and sugar in to her office. Because you shouldn't be drinking that.

Fact: REWSTER don't give a shit what you don't like.

Went to a fall fest on Sunday and saw this big blue hot dog.

Turns out it was a souped up potato gun...aka pumpkin launcher. Looked all kinds of dangerous but it was slinging pumpkins a good 2-300 yards. If the pumpkin was just the right shape to get a good seal it would clear the ski hill. I want one...

Also found my new tow rig...it was some sort of crazy fummins. Big ford emblem on the hood big ol Cummins under the hood. Lots of cool hydraulics too

Gilbert was awesome this weekend.

Does Currie have warranty on their steering system 'cause I dun messed it up'... Also took out the steering gear and pump, alternator, possibly bent the rear axle too...

Also picking up a freetome truck camper for future trips...

Tow trucks do it all day everyday. What does it do to the winch?

Tow trucks do it every day with bigger winches and to less mobile frame and axles. You take a dip hard enough to compress the suspension and slack the cable then it just bounces against the brake.

A tow truck cinches it solid against the chains and hooks to the rear. No movement against the brake

Hell unless I had a bunch of stop/starts to make, or extended night driving to do I would have driven it where I needed to go for the day, and changed it at home that evening...

There's a show called Punkin Chucking on Discovery. The hosts are usually the crew from Mythbusters, and the whole show is about different styles of pumpkin tossers. The air cannons usually throw the farthest. I believe the record is a mile, or right around that distance. IIRC it's on sometime around Thanksgiving time.

That's just a matter of how you winch it down. Mine has no suspension movement in the front end after i winched it.

Heck usually a anchor on the back and the winch on the front are the only thing holding a vehicle onto a rollback.
