Important

Well looks like I'm getting a wheelchair for a few days. I was talking with my buddy who's been in a chair for almost 30 years, he's a badass dealing with it. He also has a miata with hand controls that he AutoX's oh yeah and it's got a spec miata racecar engine and full suspension....

Is this because of something you did or from your affliction? You have a damn good attitude about the situation.

Well if you count my clumsiness as an affliction.....I was getting ready for work Saturday morning and when I fell my knee made some not so good noises. Have an appointment at the orthopedics doctor tomorrow, hopefully it's just a really bad sprain. Nothing is broken though.

I've always wanted to build one of these

I need this.

Well looks like I'm getting a wheelchair for a few days. I

I shattered my ankle when I was like 16 and they casted my leg up to my hip to immobilize it, I was in a chair for like a month. Something about the growth plates needing to stay put idk. I had fun and could do some neat tricks by the time I was done with it. Now years later I scored one that we do wheelies and spins in my basement and outside in, I think the thing is a blast.

One time Ninja was trying to use it in the winter and she got all stuck on ice. The peoples faces driving by were priceless when they thought they saw a wheelchair bound child stuck in the ice. lol they all looked sad but not one stopped!

I hope you get better quickly but there is no reason not to have a little fun with it as long as you got someone to get you unstuck if you take it 2 wheelin. On the other hand we have had a few injuries caused by people tipping over so maybe don't listen to me.

so if the boat is anything under 14 feet I don't need to title it.

tonight boat will end up shorter than 14 feet.

do you have registration paperwork for it? if so what does it say? legally it doesn't matter in most states how long it actually is, if the paperwork says its 14' then thats what it is. most 16' jon's that i've owned were actually 15'6"-15'10 but because the paperwork sat 16' I legally had to have a fire extinguisher and a throw device. most states also have laws that are different depending on whether you use a motor or "self power" the craft.

that being said...i have no idea what Ohio laws are. i'd hate to see someone get a ticket because a lot of those rules are fuzzy and will depend on who pulls you over.

in 1960 it was sold as a 14 foot boat, and that's what the TN paperwork says.

since it's never been registered in this state I can pay 3 bucks, sign an affidavit that I attest to it's actual length and it gets changed legally. They won't ever see the TN paperwork.

the title system in ohio is stupid and needlessly complicated, but occasionally it works to your advantage.

One good whack to the nose should work

looks like trailer did the work for me.

13' 10" and some change.

there are no guidelines on measuring, so that's the rear lip of the transom to the front of the bow.

doug had already put a fire extinguisher and crap in it. So I just need to pay the 35 bucks to DNR, and get some flotation devices.

clock it with a gps when you get it on the water...i had my qd on a 16 footer and it moved pretty good. i would be curious how different it runs on a 14

I have already promised Doug GPS speed measurements.

This old evinrude isn't tip top shape, but it starts first pull and has a responsive carb. A little bit of on the lake tuning and we'll see what she's got left to give. Someone on the facespace may have an old johnson to give me for parts.

Anyone have experience with short term investments? Like less than a year. I feel I can do better than letting this down payment on a house sit in savings for a penny every month.
