Important

Found the rattle coming from the left front, turned out to be a caliper bolt missing, new bolt, problem fixed.

That would be funny, lights and sirens the entire trip!

No we had negotiator training yesterday and today and I picked it up from where we keep it. It was easier to just bring it home for the night last night.

Over the last couple weeks this has happened a couple times. i keep forgetting about it. my temp gauge randomly pops up from 210 to like 250 fan is on and working. i pulled over and turned the truck off and right back on and the temp was back to normal and stayed that way. i am thinking its the sender/sensor. but could it be a sticky t-stat?

I had a sensor that did this, but instead of 250, it'd read 0... However shortxjdoug is right in that an air bubble could potentially cause this issue as well...

I'd burp the system and if it still is doing it, replace the sender (only like 10 bucks...)

Sender or short in the harness. Iirc my 97 would peg the needle to high temp and turn on the cel and check gauges light if you unplugged the sender with it running.
