I don't give a rat's ass about that place and their stance on guns, I don't go there because its overpriced....

few years ago i bought a weight set and a bench. it was one of the very very few times i have ever made a purchase from them. but in this situation they had the best price. they forgot to charge me for the bench. weights 150, bench 200, gloves 20.

i paid 170 plus tax and left.

they loaded it in my jeep:wstupid:

Dick's is overpriced on most things. But that's the norm, really. Gander Mtn, Dick's, Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's...they're all huge corporations with a LOT of overhead. They have to make up the difference somehow. They're all like the WalMart of the outdoors. Everything you need under one roof. Of course, Dick's is probably the most versatile of the bunch.

They often have good deals on golf balls. About the only thing I buy there. Or golf apparel when it's on a wicked good sale. Other than that, I prefer to support local places when it comes to guns and ammo. The good ol' brick and mortar guys are going to deal with you and appreciate your return sales more.

I would disagree. If the man dislikes a place of buisness for whatever personal reason, why should he put a penny in thier pocket. that would be the same as viewing that your vote means nothing, so you just don't do it. every little step is part of the bigger picture you may believe in.

just yesterday i told mt wife i will never buy this brand of chlorine pucks that we bought. at the beginning of summer i buy enough chlorine pucks to last the year. when i opened this 5 gallon bucket, each and every puck was wrapped in its own little plastic bag. i feel that doing this is a HUGE waste. there is no need. so therefor, i will not support this company with my measly 100 bucks a year.

i work in the body-shop part of our parts department. i probably spend more money in this company than anyone else here. i have had company's piss me off and not take back a little 200 dollar part. in return i stop using them. the VW dealer i used to used 10 years ago has probably lost 100k because they pissed me off.

You realize that there's probably a reason they're wrapped that way right?

It's funny that you'll take a stand on something like a $200 part and refuse to do business with a supplier but you don't understand why the same business took a stand to protect their policies and investments.

The only place I won't go to is chick-fil-a. I don't agree with the way they publicize their political stance. But if I was hungry and that was the only place to go, I'd go. My face likes my nose, sometimes cutting it off in spite is dumb.

I love Chik Fil A's food. The one in town opens up in 13 days. Which means I will go there in about three weeks when "holy carp something new opened up lets go there" crowd goes away.

Ha, I prefer to support chick-fil-a because of their stance...

However, there isn't one close to me that's convenient to go to, and they seem to be over priced, so I rarely eat there.

it works both ways in the parts department. we has parts people get screwed over everyday. in this situation i mentioned, the VW faxed me a pic, i picked the part i needed, the guy ordered the wrong part, then admitted ordering the wrong part, and refused to take it back and send me the right one. they were 15 mins down the road. the guy i use now is no where near as close, and comes here for a 2.00 part. that guys stance on a 200 part cost him 10's of thousands of dollars. it was a stupid move.

i deal with a lot of other dealers, and most of them tell me i have a damn good return rate. for the most part if my guys screwed up and order the wrong part they use it anyways. but if i order right, and you send wrong, and refuse to take it back, we got problems. i have only put the X on 3 dealers in 14 years. i like to build trust worthy bonds with these guys. i am not jumping around from dealer to dealer because they wont take back a part. there has even been plenty of times that i threw away a part just because it was not worth my time.

my wife said the same thing about the plastic baggies. but really, i cant think of why these pucks in side a 5 gallon sealed bucket must be wrapped in individual packaging. maybe there is a reason, maybe not, but it is that easy so buy the one next to it with no baggies for the same price.

now if that was the only chlorine in the store, yea i would buy it, my stance is not that strong with this. but that VW dealer, each person i talked to treated me more rude than the last. the will never see a penny of our dealers money.

Wow guess I shouldn't have posted a picture of Dick's pitching a tent. Look what I started.

on the contrary. you started a innocent conversation with different views on a subject that in real life means nothing.

its more of what this place needs imo. less stress, more convos that really have no meaning. i could care less what TH does with his money, and im sure nobody else does either. buts its nice to have an opinion on something and talk about it with some one else, all while knowing that none of it matters, if you were sitting around a fire.

Its whateve man:confused1
