Important

IN Ohio it is law that you are not allowed to block a public crossing at grade stopped for more than 5min. Not saying that doesn't get stretched a bit but not excessively. IIRC it's 10min in other states. This is a federal law from the FRA (Federal Railroad Administration). Need to have the neighborhood draw up a petition and present it to the FRA about the carrier blocking crossings for an unacceptable amount of time. The FRA would then launch an investigation, and determine what can be done about it. You may even try just presenting the petition to the carrier first because they are not going to want to deal with the FRA, and the possibility of getting fined.

Its 20 minutes here I believe and we can write the citation.

I moved to a place that does not have a signal track between me and work in my 40 mile drive.
now it falls into the "not my problem" act.

Dish moved the dish back to where it was at first, works perfect again. They actually did this on Monday, but I forgot to post.

Cleaned the inside of the XJ up today and messed with the Steering some more... Still pulls to the right, beginning to think control arms aren't aligned or I have a bad bushing somewhere...

Anyone drove both a 4.0 WJ and a 4.7 WJ? Difference in fuel mileage? Noticeable power?

We've found an 04 WJ 4.0 with 85k for a good price and we haven't looked at it yet, but its near the top of the list for price and reliability.

power difference yes...fuel mileage is close to the same iirc. if he is pulling something, then it might make a difference, but just running down the road with the 4.0 seems fine.

then if he gets it, he can swap motors with your lj if he breaks his :)

I've only driven a 4.0 WJ, and it had plenty of power for DD status, even being all-wheel drive. It got good fuel mileage too, similar to an XJ. Can't speak on the 4.7.

Same mileage. Difference in power is night and day. I pull 23 in my 4.7 HO at 65 cruise on. 4.0 in those is a pig

A 4.0 can go a long time without an oil change, and they are easy to find, rebuild...hahahahahahaha....

He has a small trailer that he pulls from time to time, nothing heavy, he's pulled my single place car trailer maybe once or twice in the four years he's had the WJ and it wasn't for a car, just to haul big stuff.

He should be getting a check for his WJ on Thursday...and they take it away...so to keep him from driving either our 5.9 or my F350 too long (Grace says she's driving the LJ) we need to be ready to find something soon.

He paid 9k for his WJ four years ago and is getting almost $6700 for it from insurance...that's minus the deductible at the moment, so its $500 less. Excluding the motor issue from hell (mostly his/my/our fault to a degree), I think its a great deal, I doubt we could've sold an 01 WJ Limited with 120k for $7300. I've found a couple just like his for less than that.

In the mean time, its still driveable and my brother is in town from Cali til next Wednesday...so he's driving it...Dad's got our 5.9...

Something is different about the wj 4.0 that does not make them cheep as far as junkyards/ rebuilt's.

I feel like they have no power to them, but have no experience with the 4.7

biggest cost factor is that you cant drop an xj or zj motor in them...they need a tj/lj or a wj motor only because of the motor mounts...then comes the exhaust and intake and blah, blah, blah...

its still a 4.0 just a little more expensive and harder to find than an xj 4.0

how much would a set of 37" km2's on soft 8's be worth with 75-80% tread or better?

looking at an mj with a lot of parts i need...seems to be in decent condition, but i don't need the lift or the tires...i would probably take it back to stock height and sell the lift parts. seems like it runs fine, just high miles and the guy doesn't want to deal with it any more. it would be something to drive for a while so i can work on the xj to get it back to par. if i sell the lift parts and the tires, i can probably almost break even on the deal and have a clean mj to drive and replace the one i sold. plus it has a 4.10 dana 30 out front that i can swap for the the 30 in my xj once i get the 44 i've been looking at. i do worry that they may have removed the stock lca mounts to put the long arms on...but i cant confirm that :(

Lol. Nice work.

Side note, I have a guy coming to buy my 0331 head for $225 tomorrow.

I traded minefield a track bar without a bushing to Brennan. Apparently brennan got the better end of that deal.

Calm is a bit difficult for us lol. We will have to give Justin a bed time and enforce it haha. I know we can't wait to wheel there and meet you guys

"I though this was a f&%!ing party!" -Justin after somebody put a stop on his magic fire dust throwing at Wf.
