Important

The 5.9's are the best vehicle I've owned for what I want in a vehicle. It's a Jeep with a big v8, coils, solid axles, plenty of after market, very comfortable

We are considering selling the wife's minivan and giving her the Avalanche when I get a permanent company car. I'll use the ZJ as a DD. We're looking into houses out in the country and I want her to have 4x4 on tap for the winter months since the county doesn't acknowledge half the county roads exist when it snows.

i would love to get a 5.9 zj, but this vehicle would make a couple of long trips every year...im going to test drive a kj first and see what happens. seats can be swapped, but if its a tight squeeze then i might look elsewhere. we'll see...

thats what i've been finding consistently...some little issues, but all should be easy to handle for a weekend wrencher like me. i've seen a bunch of them for sale at very reasonable prices. mostly, i want something that will be able to make trips back to iowa and to my wife's parents...something that would be able to tow my boat around and hold a little hunting gear. seems as though the libby would do just fine. we just want something with no payment mostly...
I like how you're putting together a custom J truck and a custom MJ with a diesel swap and call yourself a weekend wrencher.

The 3.7 and 4.7 chrylser engines sludge kind of bad. Make sure you look it over well. We get them in all the time that havent been taken care of. They collapse lifters and spit the rockers out from under the cams.
Just got done doing one on a dakota that was sludged the worst I had ever seen.
We have done a few head gasket jobs on them as well.

Just look them over well.
comedy option, 3.7/4.7 share the same bellhousing to engine bolt pattern as the 3.9 V6, 5.2/5.9 V8, 5.7 V8 Hemi, and 2.8 CRD :jester: if that doesn't give you dirty thoughts of engine swaps I don't know what will.

getting my schooling on today.
in English, 3 thesis statements on 3 different topics, an outline on a chapter in my book, and an outline on 2 websites, also compare differences and similarities in the 2 websites, then write a 3 page paper for Wednesday.

digital fundamentals, 10 homework questions, finish a circuit at school, and study for a 125 question midterm and prepare for a large circuit lab.

after this week i will be spent and looking forward to erasing all that studying at WF campfires.
digital fundamentals was fun as shit

I like the looks of the beemers, I am currently still very happy dd'ing my Monte. The only reason I would get rid of my Tahoe would to upgrade to the new body style Suburban, but they're so f'n expensive that I can't see that happening anytime soon.

I have owned a Jetta before, I hated that car.

Drove the XJ to Indy today and the new to me ZJ seats are amazing on comfort! Drove an hour and I didn't feel like I wanted to get out of the XJ at all like I have when I had the XJ seats.

Sarah picked up this at the Boat, Sport and Travel show.

well maybe just a "when i have time off wrencher" would have been more fitting...but the weekend term was more of just an indication that i don't do it full time. i still haven't worked on a lot of newer vehicles, though every time i do i find that its generally much easier than i expected. the fundamentals are the same, there are just a lot more wires and sensors everywhere.

thats why i chose fully mechanical diesels for my swaps...12v to the starter and 12v to the shutoff solenoid. hell the solenoid in the j10 is currently cable operated and a good part of me wants to leave it that way...oh i guess the glow plugs need 12v too when its cold :)

They have a new Unlimited on the lot I drive by every day. It says Moab on the hood. Is this a trim pack or is it got all the Rubicon op's?

New Trim package I think. There was one at the Chicago Auto show. It had different bumpers and the front bumper was winch ready.
